as for the coat color i took it from the unused sotn coated richter color. i chose that because por is a bright game. richter would look out of place in there if he looks dark.
I can see where you're coming from. Considering the way Serio's sprites are shaded, I think it could use higher contrast.

It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

I might probably create a Marth

I just got the image of a PoR hack with Marth and Roy as the two party members.

And it seems so badass in my head.

That definitely encourages me to try it!
Even better would be a full new spriteset of John and Eric. ;)
I can do either of these... but not any time soon since I'm working on something that's taking up a lot of my time.

You guys do realize that a hack of that scope would be more complicated than a mere spriteswap? I'd like to see you guys figure at least the following out:
-Main weapon/skill/subweapon set replacement.
-Voice replacement.
-Animation timing & hitbox tweaking.
Even if they were more simple than I think they would be, it'd still be considerably more time-consuming.
Also, I think I've said this before, but what the hell.

John and Eric would be pretty damn awesome. I honestly thought the Whip's Memory should have been John to begin with, but what-evs.

It would be tough. But I've got faith in Jorge! :D

I would really like to see a John and Eric sprite swap. But rather then Eric using the Alucard spear that was featured in PoR I'd rather see him using the one from Bloodlines. IMO it looked way better.

If I did it, I would take weapon placement into account.
You would need to add an AR code (or change in-game) the range/location of the book attacks such that they're further out.  Then basically all the opening 'book' sprites just become spear tips.

Also, Astarte would be a very weird fight, as she would target John but not Eric.  O_o;

Doing a Marth/Roy one is easier as Roy can use a short sword while Marth would use a long sword.  Or if one needed to have range, it'd be Ike and Marth since Ike has a ridiculous sword.

I felt it made perfect sense for it to be a Belmont, since only a Belmont can naturally wield the full power of the whip. Hell, they explained that Johnathan's father died PRECISELY because he couldn't safely utilize the full power of the whip.

I dunno, it may not be as weird as you'd think...

She can sense that Eric was entirely loyal to Gwendolyn, so thus her charms wouldn't work on him.

Or something.

:P

No, seriously, if this happened, I would seriously play through the entirety of PoR all over again. I love those guys.

And if dialog and portrait changes were made... It'd be amazing.

A thread discussing PoR hacks.

However, it has derailed from your hack. :\
