Id recommend Bayonetta; it's got the right balance of story to gameplay. Still one of my favorite PS3 games and I'm looking forward to 2 should that ever come into play.

I think Nintendo basically produced Bayonetta 2, so hopefully it stays a Wii U exclusive and actually gets people to buy the system.

Definitely give the free demo of Double Dragon Neon a shot.  It's not for everyone, but it's one of my favorite games of the PS3 generation.  It's by Wayforward, the same developer that did Contra 4 and the Shantae games.  It's filled with gorgeous 2D animation and hilarious nods to the 80s and early 90s.

The full-3D Bionic Commando (2009 console release, not "Rearmed") for PS3/XBOX360 was one of the best games of the generation for me in terms of pure and unique gameplay. In fact, surprisingly, it's probably my favorite game on the PS3. It's rough around the edges, and has a significant learning curve in terms of the swinging mechanics, but I found it to be amazing. This is one of the only "next-gen" games to really impress me to the point where my jaw dropped. (It captured the essence of the original NES Bionic Commando while moving it into 3D, whereas LoS in terms of Castlevania, not nearly as much). Really wish their could have been a sequel...

Castlevania could learn a lot about 3D swinging and 3D environments from this game.

The cave level in this game showed me the basics of what level 3 of Super Castlevania IV could be like in 3D if designers stretched their imaginations in the gameplay/environment department.

Bayonetta is an incredible game. Probably the best technical brawler in existence until its sequel is released. I was going to buy a Wii U just for Bayonetta 2 until I found out that the Wonderful 101 was actually a technical brawler made by Platinum so I bought one early for it and was not disappointed.

All Platinum games I can recommend to anyone, well... most people because Bayonetta really isn't for everyone (too many sexual refrences) but still very much enjoyable
