Topic: Anyone out there know where to get that fanmade CVIII remake?

Hey I'm having trouble downloading it. When I clicked open, it came up with all these files. How do I actually download and get to the game?

I saved it to my PC, to a new folder ( I dubbed it Castlevania 3 homebrew).  I had to unzip it via winzip before I could get to the application though. (One with say Castlevania application, that's the one you play.)

It's a program to compress/decompress archives or files. Yes, it costs money, though I think you can use it after its trial period expires too.

It can open not only zips, but also rars, arj, 7z and other file formats.

You can scan the .zip (or .rar) file with a virus scanner before opening it, if you're paranoid.  You can also scan the .exe file online by using Trend Micro's HouseCall online software.

Don't worry, I'm not that paranoid, I'm just making sure, lol, and I am using the inverted dungeon .zip file. But I'm having trouble actually getting to the game. I downloaded the 7-zip link that Serio posted but can you tell me how to use that to get to the actually game? Sorry if I'm causing you guys a lot of trouble, I just don't know that much about computers.

Run the gui version of 7zip (the one that shows you its menu, it should be in start>programs>7-zip>7-zip file manager) and press options, then on the system tab press [select all] button, then ok.

Once you do that right click the zip file and select 7-zip => extract or just doubleclick it, select all and press the extract button (looks like a big blue minus). It should then ask you where to unpack, unpack wherever you want (for example on the desktop into a cv3c folder and you're done.
