I wish I had a video of it!  I don't know how funny it would be to watch, or even if I'm remembering it all very clearly, but from what I remember in my mind we were rolling around in hysterics as we kept trying.  Most of the time my friend died was because he had a habit of just jumping everywhere instead of walking.  The first time he picked up the nitro (and on several other attempts!) he literally jumped away first thing  I'm sure we were making a ruckus, and his dad came in and watched for a moment.  Once we explained what we were supposed to do (and he saw how terrible we were doing) he said something like, "Maybe you'd get further if you stopped pushing the jump button!"
