In the past, other well-known creators such as Koji Igarashi and Keiji Inafune and others have had trouble getting support for high-res 2D games by their publishers, despite the hunger for these types of games by fans. Another example is Metroid, which hasn't seen a 2D incarnation on console in a long time. If the opportunity arose, would you be up for making a Metroid-style game?

That sounds great. I'd love to try to make it. How do you think the fans would react if Vanillaware made a Castlevania game?

Like I said, this is not a guarantee of anything. However, I like the fact that an interesting developer such as Vanilliaware seems interested at taking a shot at Castlevania. I noticed that he specifically brought up Castlevania without being explicitly prompted to do so. They only ask him if he's interested in making a metroid-style game and only seem to bring up IGA in relation to Bloodstained. It probably doesn't meany anything, though.

I'm never gonna get hyped until I have a brand new copy of a new CV in my hands. A new Metroid game would be nice too, and hopefully a game that retcons the awfully atrociously written story of Other M.

Fact: Vanillaware can pull of some of the best animations and 2D graphics on the video game market.

That's an interesting an odd headcanon, I think you should definitely start another topic on it.
I say this because the entire Ridley thing is also strange; the baby Ridley had to be born/ cultivated on the Bottleship as a clone of the original. Ridley can not be a baby because in SM he was fully grown and he was destroyed by Samus. (Previous to SM it had always been the original Ridley through ZM>MP>MP3>SM)

I've been saying Vanillaware should get CV for years now.

Nothing would make me happier than for them to do CV. Their style would work amazingly well for it. It would be just the style overhaul CV needs imo.

I would take Vanillaware over any other studio.
