Wasn't there like a George Belmont?  He was an actor playing his ancestor Simon I believe in some ridiculous tie in material from the 80s.
Not George, it's Simon.
If I recall corectly he somehow accidentaly awakened Dracula during filming and had to kill him.
Gotta get away

The greatest are:
Leon - started the legacy, defeated many different powerful demons and monsters, a powerful master vampire and Death, all before his lineage got superhuman abilities in themselves
Ralph/Trevor - First person to ever defeat Dracula, the Demon King. He recruited poweful allies and always kept a watchful eye on the powers of Darkness.
Julius - The man who defeated Dracula for good and stated to be *the* most powerful Vampire Hunter, even in advanced age.

The rest, while certainly all impressive and badass, didn't go above and beyond like those three, in my opinion.
Oh come on, no love for Simon?

Not only did he kill Dracula, he went gathered his body parts so he could put him back together and kill him again.  Then he waited 100 years for him to come back so he could kill him again.

Then he skateboarded around his castle, teamed up with Megaman and Kid Icarus, and got into a fight with Optimus Prime.  ... pretty sure that's all canon.    ;)

There were the 5 picked for the "Greatest Five" in PoR (Richter, Leon, Trevor, Juste, Simon).  Would you just go with those?  Would you pick a different 5?  If I could do 7, who would you pick for the other 2?

Julius, Julius, Julius, Julius, Julius, Julius, and Julius.

This is why Simon Belmont is the man, especially his SCV4 iteration.

Julius, Julius, Julius, Julius, Julius, Julius, and Julius.

Julius is to Castlevania what Dylan is to hip-hop

Ah, yes, I forgot to mention that time where he went and fought Optimus Prime and later Megatron in the recommended readings section. :P

Now I'm just thinking of Simon Belmont going into Unicron (basically Satan for the Transformers) and just wrecking shit up.  And killing Unicron.  Without the Matrix of Leadership.

So it seems like pretty much everyone agrees:  Leon -- Trevor -- Christopher -- Simon -- Julius.

Anyone know of some particularly good pictures/artwork of Christopher, perhaps along the lines of official stuff?  I'm familiar with the artwork for the others because they're in games I own, but I'm not really familiar with Christopher.

Julius > Simon > Christopher > Ralph/Trevor > Juste
>>> Leon > 'Sonia' > Richter > Soleiyu

Julius is and will be the OP. Simon is close second by maybe a millimetre or two. Christopher killed Dracula twice. Trevor was the first one to end Dracula. Juste can do magic stuff.

Leon did not kill Dracula, and he is an asshole towards his descendants. I dunno much about Sonia, but she did kill Dracula (though not the full Dracula). Richter and Soleiyu is weak cause they were controlled by Dracula, but at least Richter ended Dracula once.

This list is Opinion Based. In canon, later they were born, stronger they are.

I'm kind of surprised with all the Leon love. I'm not saying that's a bad thing what so ever but it just surprises me. I guess it's just because I feel like he gets overshadowed by other characters.

Well, Leon is one I knew I'd include from the beginning, in part because I stole the name for my firstborn.

Simon and Julius are the greatest. If I could pick one, i'd go with Julius.
Trevor is in third spot.

Soleiyu  and Richter are the worst. I don't care for Soleiyu, but i like Richter as a character, but he's really flawed.
