Topic: Tiger handheld SOTN

Someone just posted about wanting to buy a sealed copy of this game.

It got me thinking/wondering if anyone has managed to make an emulated version of the game?

If such a thing doesn't exist, perhaps we could talk about the possibility of a playable version (perhaps a remade version) with scans and hi res photos is possible to make this game playable to anyone on the internet at least in some form.

Same thing with the tiger simons quest.

It seems like a good idea to immortalize and archive them in a playable way if possible. What do you guys think?

Same reason we don't have a Game.com emulator*. People could make it, but why?

Jokes aside, I've always been curious about at least trying the Tiger handheld 'vanias, simply for the novelty of it. Same reason I want to find a working Game.com emulator to try out their port of Resident Evil 2. I'm sure it'll suck badly. But just curious. I'm all for preserving them for future's sake, regardless of whether or not they're good.

There are a few emulated or reproduced or whatever is used versions of LCD games out there  - don't think there is already a Tiger SotN but it is certainly possible to create.  You can find some on this site:

it can be done, but should it?  aside from the 5 minutes of curiosity which endured me to play this waste of plastic and wiring, it's disgusting.  it's worthless.  it's...  symphony of the night handheld.  i thought we all agreed never to speak of this game.

This made me realize that there are now generations who do not and probably never will know the usually dubious joys of the old Tiger handhelds. Sometimes they were good (I remember "Raptor Island" especially being great for what it was) but the medium was really limited in what it could do and most games were bad cash-grabs. I never played the Castlevania Tigers, but I do remember seeing the SOTN one when it was in stores. Wish I had one sealed now, I'd sell it lol. As far as emulation, I know a bunch of the old nintendo "game and watch" series of handhelds have been released in various compilations for the game boy (advance?).

Also worth reposting for Nostalgia sake.

I do remembering cleaning up points-wise in the Tiger handheld of Simon's Quest as a child. I got up to Dracula, and a friend of mine who was a bit older managed to beat him. Good times.

game & watch was different, to me at least.  it just felt like a better quality product.
that, and the games themselves were actually fun...  even that discombobulated zelda game was great

I used to have a few if those Tiger games back in the day. But I never was able to find Simon's Quest or Sotn (though I played SQ a couple tikes.) For me, I'd rather emulate them just because it's an intereating part of gaming history, but I'd also like to give them a good run just for fun.

And way better.

It was, but it was still pretty expensive at that time, whereas a Tiger game was like $20. Much easier sell to the parents than a GameBoy was.
