Aaaaah all these years and I just discovered that masterpiece of masterpieces!!  *.*

there should be more cinematic fighting games like that.  and they are different from interactive movies, and QTEs, because the fights still flow freely like regular fighting games, just from a high quality anime fashion.   there's actually depth to its mechanics and action inputs too.   and the 2D art and animations are the most gorgeous in the genre (well outside of 3D of course, but it goes to show even 80s anime 2D art can really rival 3D models in some charismatic ways)

Inspired artists could bring back the classic anime artstyles.   it's actually more doable and affordable than 3D CG FMVs.      I wonder what they use for those 2D colors for the characters skin, hair and costumes, and what kinda pencils, pens and ink they use.  as well as how they make those cool transparent light special effects, as well as what kind of painting style they use for the backgrounds. Its totally possible to recreate that art style.

Extra fighters:
Press IV, VI, II, II, V, V, VI, V, Run during the opening FMV sequence.

Hey thanks!  So a code is required to play the Dark Empire side?  I guess for tournament mode? cause I think free mode has both sides playable.   And yea, there are people inspired by classic anime.   Wouldn't be surprised if there's some artists emulating that art style in their own creations.   though yea most artists do a lot of moeblob and simplistic stuff these days (or too detailed stuff),  classic anime has more beauty, elegance, and cleanliness to it, with more vibrant colors and shadows that are not harsh.
