Does anyone else feel like SoTN's Dracula fight was rushed?

Something that Always bothered me about the infamous final Boss of the game.
Dracula has been fairly consistent in his 10' glory, and the Richter fight gives a reasonable scale on his throne.
Now, as Alucard, not only is he a bit smaller on his massive Xenomorphic throne, the Sprite itself shows perspective that he is indeed supposed to be chilling considerably in the back...
How is it that Alucard's 3-4 foot swing can hit Dracula that is considerably 20-40 yards away?

Given the evidence it brings the obvious question of was there intended to be a second form? or was the fight itself gimped to time restraints?
Given the unfinished area and the Maria monster fight, SoTN is pretty good at keeping unfinished material out of the final release, but one could only wonder...

Imagine how the fight could have really gone down, slowly kill parts of his throne until Drac decides to jump (or teleport) off to fight you 1 on 1, that could have been a pretty simplistically cinematic final fight sequence.

I don't feel it was rushed, I just feel it was too easy. Also, a sprite that size takes ages to animate, so there's also that.

How is it that Alucard's 3-4 foot swing can hit Dracula that is considerably 20-40 yards away?

Video game logic, what else? They wanted Dracula to fill the screen and appear to be imposing, so they had him on his throne again (that, btw, is his cape). Also, I don't think he is THAT far away, but not near enough to be realistically hit by a sword slash.

In terms of logistics or hitting Throne Drac, it's called false perspective and happens everytime a character jumps through or onto an "invisible" platform, whereby technically they're jumping into and out of the 2d plane.

If there's no cheating at all allowed in the 2d plane you end up with Mirror of Fate syndrome; hanging off platforms, throwing axes into ceilings, and not whipping candles.. Because everytime you whip or strike a candle that looks like it's mounted on the wall, that perspective is also false.

Boss Fight rushed, not in my opinion. I agree it was easy. There was never a boss fight really like that before. It was different to what the player would expect, a bit like when you go to fight the vampire bat in AOS and you get the giant version of "the creature". Except that boss imo was a lot better executed. SOTN was the first of many Metroidvania's which did display incremental improvements particularly when it came to boss fights.

SoTN as a whole doesn't feel that well balanced when it comes to boss fights, what with your overpowering moveset and arsenal of overpowering weapons, and whatnot.  That being said, I don't think it was rushed.  Even if it was, this wasn't the first time a Dracula fight was so ridiculously easy (Rondo of Blood Dracula's second form I'm looking at you).

I didn't make that, hence the watermark of the actual artist.

I just needed a good skelepun gif.

D9 didn't put any *backbone into that work, but I'm the original author did a *skele-ton of work!  How he *con-coxa pic like this I'll never know. But I *patella you the truth, this guy is a *skullful artist, no *bones about it!  I'm not just being *humerus!  Ask again and I'll say the same on the *marrow.  Of course the artist is at the *femur-cy of his materials, whether they be *papyrus, copy paper, computer programs, or whether he be *sans any materials at all!  I can't help but wonder though, with a talent like this, does he have others?  Perhaps he can play the *trom-bone?
