Cerberus
|
Cerberus is the first boss you will meet up with and is found in the Catacomb area. A
good strategy against him is use holy water. When it throws out electric barriers that keep you away
from him, throw about two or three vials of holy water at him. Usually depending on your level you can
take off 5 damage for each time it inflicts damage. And also since he has those barriers out for a while
he just keeps taking damage. When it gets ready to charge you just run from him. And when it jumps on a platform, that
means it's going to shoot a beam out of it's mouth. Stay beneath him and whip once or twice if you can. When it finishes
get ready to dash across the screen and jump on a platform. Repeat this until it dies. After defeating Cerberus, you
get the double jump abilty. To use it just press the jump button again in midair.

Necromancer
|
Necromancer is the second boss fight you will have and he is found in the Audience Room. But before fighting him,
go to Triumph Hallway. Right where the actual entrance is to the castle there is a candle. One has a heart, the other
has your best friend throughout the game, the cross. After snagging the cross backtrack to the Audience Room and
get ready for Necromancer. After a brief conversation the fight starts. What I do is wait for him to throw his six
rings at you. Then he just floats around. This is when I bring out the crosses and throw one. Chances are you
won't get much damage in now but when he goes to the center of the room to summon monsters, that's when you strike. Get
up by him but stay in the maximum reach of a cross. Throw three on him. They will hover on him and sap his life away real
well. Repeat this until his first form is dead. Then get ready for his second form. This form is a lot like his first one
only it goes into a ball of mist and bounces around the screen. Same thing as before, when he starts summoning throw a
bunch of crosses on him. Repeat until he dies. After defeating Necromancer's last form you get the tackle
ability. This lets you destroy the stone blocks that block many passages. To use it press the R button and attack while
walking.

Iron Golem
|
This boss is frighteningly easy. You find him in the Machine Tower. Hopefully you still have that cross. If not
you may want to hunt one down. Keep in mind that the cross is only in two locations through the entire castle. Never
let it go! But back to the boss, when he gets ready to punch at you just move away from him. When he shakes the
ground, make sure you jump before he connects with it. Then dodge the falling gears. Since he moves so slow you can
easily sap his damage away with crosses. During the fight don't be afraid to jump over him. Repeat until he dies. Pretty
easy boss if you ask me. Oh and if you don't have a cross you could use possibly holy water or just whipping. Holy water
could work very well since he just stands most of the time. After killing the Golem you recieve the wall jump ability. To
use it jump up to a wall and press the R button. Or you can jump on the wall and usually will spring you forward. But that may
only be after you recieve a different item, but that's a whole other boss.

Adrameleck
|
This monstrosity is in the Chapel Tower. If you don't have that cross you will have a
hard time with him. I highly suggest it for this boss, or at least an axe. Although the
longer you let him live the more damage he can do to you. With crosses I went in and charged up
on the right hand side. The only way to hurt him is the head. Jump up, throw the three
crosses. They stay right on his head and he dies fast. When he throws skulls out of his hand just
stay under the hand and you're safe. And when he throws bubbles at you I jumped and whipped at them. He
has a third attack that is supposed to be real hard to dodge. Luckily if you have those crosses, he won't
live long enough to use it. I'm replaying through the game now to try and find a strategy for him without
crosses. After his death you don't get an item but a switch. Jump on it and it destroys all the green
statues that block many important rooms.
Here is an alternate strategy for beating him sent in from Jeremy Weissmann:
"I think I had axe when I got to Adrameleck, but it didn't matter,
because I just used whip. The trick I found (and for other bosses),
is to use the DSS combo of Jupiter and Manticore to put poison clouds
around you. The reason this is so good is it takes care of all the
projectiles, which is the only real difficulty with this boss."

Dragon Zombies
|
Possibly the hardest boss up to this point. Some people are able to use axes, I just couldn't. But what I did do
to help the fight go quicker was using the DSS system to increase my strength. That way everything did more damage. First
off, as soon as the fight starts go to the center of the room. There are two platforms there. On the lower one throw either
your three crosses or some well timed axes. If using crosses, when they come back to you jump up to the platform above you. This
way you also hit the other dragon head. Also retreat to that upper platform if you get surrounded by both heads. Concectrate on
one at a time. After one is dead the opposite head eats it and gets 100HP back per bite. If you have Heart Refreshes, use them. If
you have enough for the rest of the fight then just repeat the same strategy on the other head. If not then use your whip. Go on
the floor and when he comes near you whip him once or twice. You can hit him but he can't hit you. Only downside to this is it can
be slow and tedious. But better to be safe than sorry. The item you get after killing them is the push abilty. Just walk up
to a crate and push until you don't need to move it anymore.
An alternate strategy:
"Now, the Dragon Zombies were really difficult until I figured out a
strategy which was so easy it was funny. I used axe. When you enter
the room, simply drop straight down, i.e. behind the right dragon.
Then just toss as many axes as you can at his head until his head
moves forward and pauses for a second: that means he's about to hit
the wall behind you. So just time it right and as he does that,
slide left under his neck. He'll hit the wall and the ceiling will
crumble but that's easy enough to dodge and it doesn't usually hit
you. Slide back under his neck and you can start axe-ing him like
crazy again. Then simply repeat for the left dragon."
Here is another strategy for the Dragons, sent in by Christopher Bijalba.

Death
|
Death is in the Underground Warehouse. He is an optional boss but I recommend you fight him. He makes the area
after him much easier. I use crosses on him and he does just floats having mini scythes appear during the fight. Using
crosses just throw two or three at a time to do damage on him. Besides his scythes he sometimes will shoot a beam at you. Either
run past it or jump over it. Repeat until he dies. The second form just stays on the ground moving slowly. The only attacks it
does is have scythes appear by you yet again. Either throw three crosses on him at a time, or whip him. If you have holy water,
that is good too. If you want to do extra damage use a DSS combination. The item from Death is a water that
allows Nathan to stand in water. Make sure you break the wall behind the necklace for a secret room.
Alternate strategy: "Put on Jupiter and Manticore and he's a cinch, with or without crosses."

Carmilla
|
Carmilla is in the Underground Waterway. The cross is the weapon of choice again. After a conversation with her she shows her
true demon form and the fight has started. Throw three crosses at a time to get her good. But it has to hit part of her, not the
skull she is on. The bubbles that fly out at you can be hard to dodge at times but not impossible. She also occasionally
shoots a large laser beam out of the skull's mouth. To dodge it just go to the bottom of the fighting area and duck. As soon
as the beam stops get ready to move out of the spot fast because more water bubbles are on the way. Repeat until she is dead. After
she has been defeated she reverts back to her human form. After another conversation with her she dies. The item you
get after killing Carmilla is the super jump item. To use it press Up and R button. When you use this thing get ready to fly, the
best part is it doesn't even use magic up. Alternate strategy: "Once again, put on Jupiter and Manticore. My strategy was to always
stay above Camilla. I usually stand right by the entrance and exit
doors so I can get a lot of good whips in as she comes close. Then
once she comes really close I jump onto the upper left platform, then
to the upper right platform, then to the exit door. My general tip
when fighting bosses is: NEVER stand below them!"

Hugh Baldwin
|
Finally a strategy for Hugh! Instead of having a cross for Hugh, I prefer holy water. After a brief conversation
with him he will run towards you with his sword. Let him get up in front of you, then when he starts his attack throw
a holy water on him and jump over him. He will miss and then try to attack you again. The trick is to not let him leave
that spot where the holy water is. So make sure you're already right behind him. He will start the attack again and then jump
over it. Keep repeating this over the entire fight, he works real well. Or if you don't want to use holy water you can
just use the whip and keep jumping over him. It doesn't really matter since he uses the same attack if you don't go too
far away from him. If you do for some reason then you should know he has the same secondary attacks as you for the most
part. He has an axe, dagger, cross, and unholy water. After enough damage is taken off he goes into DSS mode. Keep
using the same strategy, but look out because he does use axes and unholy water a lot while in DSS. He also summons some
swords after you but only if you try running from him. If you ever need to heal then sumper jump up to a higher platform
and use a DSS to heal yourself. Overall Hugh isn't too easy or too hard, you shouldn't have much trouble with him.

Dracula
|
At last the long promised Dracula strategy! When you enter the room and after a short conversation with Dracula the fight
begins. In this game you don't even need to hit his head which is good for you. Oh and Dracula's first form is a wuss. If you
want you can throw three crosses at a time to do him in faster or whip him, either way he dies easily. If you use crosses I
suggest using a DSS that has the cross use MP instead, you'll need those hearts soon. Anyway to put into perspective to how
easy his first form is I beat him at level 38 with nothing equipped. And by Nathan's sheer natural stats he died from about
fifteen hits with the whip. Level 38 at Dracula is very low, so beating him that easily is still a joke. Enough of my
rambling, onto his second form.
Since his first form was easy you might think his second form is a pushover too. WRONG! This is in my opinion the hardest
Dracula second form fight in a long time. Even at level 71 his second form was a killer. Now the trick is you can only
do damage to him when the eye in his chest is open. Dracula has a few attacks but they are deadly. A laser beam, to counter
it throw crosses at him, then run away. When the beam stops do a double jump to dodge the fire. His second attack are
flaming meteors, they can be easy to dodge at time but make sure you do not get hit because they do a lot of damage. And third,
his last normal attack are summonging a bunch of poison clouds that also do some descent damage to Nathan. After dealing enough
damage he does his super attack. His super is charging into you. At level 71 this does 500 damage. At all costs stay away from
him when he does it. What you want to do is jump on one of the platforms. When he starts to do it (you can tell because he
floats back a little bit before charging) right away do a super jump. After about three charges he turns into an eye surrounded
by bats. Kill the bats and attack the eye, this is the only way to damage him for the rest of the fight. Also this is the last
boss, don't be afraid to go nuts with using cure items. The fight may take a while but the strategy works. Just throw crosses
at the start, then dodge the charges, and attack the eye. I found it easier to just whip it but throwing crosses now and then
can do extended damage. After that and it's all over for a very good ending much like CVIV's.
Here is the fourth alternate strategy sent in from Jemey Weissmann:
"I fought him at Level 49, I think, and he wasn't too difficult.
First I put on Neptune and Manticore, so his poison bubbles wouldn't
drain me. Then I just tossed a few crosses at his eye. He converts
into his "second" second form pretty quickly, the form where he
shoots across the screen and does 500 damage. Now here's where I got
a little cheap. I did the Roc Jump to stay at the top of the screen,
but when he turns into the floating eye surrounded by bats, I used
Uranus and Thunderbird. It does a whole lot of damage. In my
opinion, that bat/eye thing is too hard to fight. There's no good
place to stand, because it's usually below you if you're on the
platform, or directly above you, so you can't jump. Also, if it hits
you, you're knocked to the ground and you usually can't get back
before he turns back into the 500-damage form. Of course, this
strategy is no good in fighter form."
