In your quest to defeat Dracula in CastleVania, you will need to aquire some items to aid you.
| Point/Money Bags
|
   These Point Bags are quite pointless, unless you are aiming for a high score in CastleVania. The red bag gives you 100 points, the purple bag gives you 400 points, and the white bag gives you 700 points.

| Treasure
|
 Once again, like the money bags, this is also a pointless item. These treasures in the game, however, are quite hard to find. In every stage there is a Treasure to be found. When found, they give you either: 1000, 1500, or 2000 points.

| Small Heart
|
 Hearts in this game are basically for you to use up when executing a weapon. This small heart gives you 1 point added to your total heart number.
|
| Big Heart
|
 Like mentioned above, hearts are basically points for you to use as for you to use weapons. The big heart gives you a total of 5 hearts added to your total number of hearts. Although, if you have 0 hearts to begin with, and you aquire this item, the big heart acts as giving you 10 hearts.

| Spirit Ball
|
 The spirit ball acts as two things, one of which it does is let you pass to the next level, the other is that when aquired, the spirit ball replenishes your life. You receive these spirit balls after defeating the bosses of the video game.

| Weapon Upgrade
|
 You only keep on getting this item until you have gotten 2 of these. Basically, when you get this item your whip just gets longer and upgraded from being a mere leather whip, into a deadly chain whip/morning star, quite nice.
