Dungeon Geography (The Old Map Thread)

After finding out that a fellow Dungeon poster went to the same school I did, I started to wonder who else out there is in the vicinity (I'm from Phoenix). Not only that, but this website has members that span the globe. I thought it would be cool to draw up a visual representation of how far the Dungeon's reach is. Here is an animated map showing over 200 Castlevania Dungeon members who have added themselves to this creation!

This thread used to be updated since 2007 but is no longer accepting submissions as of 2018. Thanks!

I should also note to all of those who are new to this thread that The Map has been around since January of 2006 on the old forum. Feel free to continue the discussions as before. And while it lasts, you can view the old thread HERE.

The map has evolved over time, growing in size and population.

The Castlevania Dungeon now has a GOOGLE MAP for super accurate pinpointing of your location. Update your location on that map from your profile page!

If anyone would like anything modified or removed from the text file, please PM me. Thank you.

Wow, I hadn't realized all those European entries had made it all bright now in the Europe section, wow.

I was so used to seeing it just bright in the USA area.

Question:
Do they ever teach/tell you guys why it's pronounced "ArkanSAW" instead of "ArKANSAS"?  After all, KANSAS is pronounced "Kansas" so why isn't ArKANSAS pronounced the same way?

I've always wondered.

You know, I really don't understand it either. I know I've never been told. I'm sure it has something to do with the history of the state and how it got its name, but although they give us Arkansas History all through school(most boring class ever BTW), I don't think they ever explain that.

I want to look into it now... :-\
