We've got a new trailer for Nocturne Season 2 and a release date of January.
https://www.netflix.com/tudum/articles/castlevania-nocturne-season-2-release-dateI've got a couple predictions/expectations for how season 2 might use Alucard:
#1 - Alucard will be revealed to be Richter's father.
We still have no idea who Richter's father is. He still held onto his mother's last name. I'm guessing that if his father's last name was technically Tepes, the family would "definitely" want to hide that fact and keep it Belmont. In past alternate canon games, Alucard was revealed to be the likely father of Trevor Belmont and actual father of Simon Belmont, so making him the father of Richter in this canon would be a remixed nod to those events. There's an opening for the role of Richter's father and who else could it possibly be?
#2 - Alucard will become evil instead of Richter
Alucard's "early" appearance in this continuity harkens back to Symphony of the Night. But Richter hasn't really had enough time to shine yet as the main protagonist, I feel it's way to early to have him go evil. But I think there's always been a chance in the franchise that Alucard could "go bad" one of these days, but we've only gotten hints of it in flashbacks (like the radio drama or Death implying he was once on their side) or fears of what might happen if his human half was destroyed. Having Alucard go bad would still fit in with themes of Symphony of the Night of the guy who killed Dracula becoming the bad guy, even if the details are remixed. He got close in the first animated series when he started putting corpses on sticks in front of his castle, but he never went "over the edge". It's time we got to see on screen what that might be like. He could become the "new Dracula" like he was afraid would happen if his human half died in Grimoire of Souls or maybe he's simply manipulated by the forces of darkness like Richter in SotN. Then again, maybe Tera turning into a vampire is enough treading on that theme.
