Replaying Lecarde Chronicles I. I'm near the end. But holy shit is this game tilting.
Playing og Oblivion because I never rly played its questlines, just messed around for like 40 hours with vampire mods when I was a teenager.
Finished the Dawn of Sorrow mod which recently came out. Pretty cool.

I wonder if they're going to shoehorn Sonia back into lore somehow? Doubtful, but we at least know it's a female protagonist this time around. She seems to be affected by something with her hand...which I wonder if this is the curse the game is referencing? It actually makes a lot of sense for Dracula to curse the one thing needed to destroy him...a Belmont's hands. Thoughts?Whether she's called Sonia or not, she is not that Sonia ofc. They just wanted to recycle the female blonde Belmont because women protags sell more or something. Konami can't afford to lose the 500$ they invested on this game!

Products doesn't necessarily mean videogames. Knowing what Konami does with Yugioh anniversaries, this Castlevania's celebration will drag on for years, but it will consist mostly of merchandise and gadgets.

The visuals are incredibly mid, Konami being extremely risk-adverse probably gave the developers a minimal budget. Also, didn't Evil Empire and Motion Twin hate each other? I guess this project started right after the Dead Cell DLC but before they split?
It DOES look like Netflix, or at least consistent with the show, even the demons, what the fuck, I hate that. But the Castle is there and Dracula should too so it's just aesthetics.
One curator on Steam said the curse is a risk/reward mechanic. Ok...
Need to know more about the gameplay, how it feels, how good is the map and level design. But even if they execute everything perfectly it still won't be a real Castlevania. Unfortunately the Konami Castlevania studio simply doesn't exist anymore. What we have here still represents a noticeable progress for this series' revival but as long as they rely on outsiders to make the product, of course the games will have those developers' imprint and/or feel quite bland.

Back to topic, I couldn't get into Dead Cells and I genuinely hate the art style here. Not looking like something I'll pick up at this point.
