I can't read this, but I think it's a Symphony radio drama. It's under a section on Konami's Japanese page called Konami Station, and the url does say drama.

this is so awesome, it's fun trying to pick apart the google translation for meaningful insights to the story of Castlevania. i'm also translating it in Yahoo! Babel Fish to try to understand what they're saying better.
I'm gonna try to post a character summary of the new characters based on the two translations, translate from gibberish to english, and pretend i know what i'm talking about.

A servant of Alucard of 350 years ago. A figure from Alucard's past (I wonder if this is the Master Librarian?)
Magnus -
An Incubus who can mentally manipulate others. He appears before Maria for some reason. {oo, Maria is visited by an Incubus, rrow}
Cyril -
20 years old. The leader of the clan (Belmont or Morris?) and heir to the Vampire Hunter whip. He seeks a cure to drive out the evil that is within the weapon. {i'll have to assume he's from the generation after Richter, since I doubt he'd be 20 years old while Richter was 25 years old. unless Richter dies or something and he's his brother?}
Alexis -
21 years old. The best friend of the vampire hunter Cyril. Watches out for him because of his naivety.

My interpretation of the prologue:
Alucard, with the help of Maria, defeated Count Dracula and freed Richter. It has been one year since he has disappeared because of his hatred of his own blood. There are reports in a town of a series of incidents involving the death of young girls whose blood are drained. Meanwhile, as Richter takes up his whip, his letter addressed to Maria arrives. He tells her that he fears that the vampire instinct in Alucard has reawoken.
Around the same time, a dark man who calls himself Magnus, appears before Maria. He shows her in a dream a vision of Alucard sucking the blood of a young girl. Is this vision of the incubus a deception or reality? Truth and fiction are blurred and the horrible past of Alucard is revealed.
A new generation of vampire hunters, Cyril and Alexis, will join the cast of Alucard, Maria, and Richter as this tale progresses.

When I said that Richter "took up his whip", it may be that he "put down his whip" instead, which might make more sense if we assume he can't use the whip anymore. Also earlier, when I described as Cyrill trying to cure the whip from the evils inside it, he may have been trying to cure the evil in the land using the whip. I can't tell.

This is fun but difficult to do. I'll try the descriptions for Alucard, Richter, and Maria, just because I'm now addicted to this kind of translation.
Alucard: A half vampire born of the union of Count Dracula and the human Lisa. After reviving Dracula, he seals him with his own blood, and he then submerges himself. He appears beautiful and silent, which contrasts with his powerful body, which he used to destroy Dracula and he fights forever.
Richter: He was once praised for being the strongest and his defeat of Dracula. He is now ashamed of being controlled by Shaft and abandons his role as vampire hunter. The holy vampire killer whip again responds to a dark power, so he again takes up the whip.
Maria: A girl who has the power of defeating demons by summoning the power of four holy animals. She has fought twice in the past. During the first time, she was twelve years old. During the second, she was 17 and searching for the missing Richter at Dracula's Castle alone. After Dracula was defeated again, she and Alucard acted together.

Earlier, I was wondering what the statement about Alucard in Dawn of Sorrow that said "He took to sleep in 1476
after defeating his own father and awakened in 1797 to aid the Belmonts. He has sealed his own power to prevent Dracula's return." I'm not sure if he sealed his power after the events of Symphony of the Night or as his part of Dracula's defeat in the battle of 1999. It sounds from this audio drama that he sealed his powers to prevent dracula's resurrection after SoTN. Sounds like something went wrong though. He gets awoken too soon somehow, possibly going on the rampage? I wonder if the audio drama will feature a resurrection of Dracula, or will the defeat of Alucard's seal on Dracula be part of the plot of Order of Ecclesia?

This drama is likely to explain EXACTLY why the Belmonts can't touch the VK until 1999. It looks like it WASN'T just Richter's possession that was to blame, because Richter still has control over it. This drama will clear the air of the mystery we've all been wondering for some time, AND will likely lead right into the time of Order of Ecclesia.

so i doubt there was any need for the morrises yet, and as far as i know only belmonts were true heirs to the whip, with the morrises just borrowing it.
so my guess is, the cyril guy's probably a belmont. maybe richter's brother or something, since it seems he's only around 4-5 years younger than ric, but he's also called the leader of the clan and heir to the whip.
it could've been something like:
richter renounces his title as vampire hunter and the head of the belmont clan because he blames himself for his weakness in getting mind controlled by shaft. his brother/cousin/whatever, cyril, who was next in the line for the whip takes over the clan.
but richter, being the first son was possibly the only one who could use the whip to its full potential due to receieving the full training with the whip.
he might have felt guilty over what happened with shaft, so he wanted to reddeem himself, like soleil after belmont's revenge. the chance happened soon enough.

They updated. It's not really the first episode though. It's just like an introduction to what's going on and who the characters are for those who don't know the CV story. He also talks about some random stuff. Nothing to get too excited about.

is it a complicated thing to listen to the broadcast (such as trying to register when you don't know any Japanese), or is it as simple as clicking on a link? i'd like to hear it, even if i don't understand it, just to get a feel for the voices and to see if there's any background or intro music that might be interesting.

i'm considering it canon until i have proof otherwise, but i guess you'd have to ask Iga if it really is. or else wait for Order of Ecclesia to come out and see if they reference any of the events of the drama. but even that probably wouldn't be enough.

oh thanks, I found it from there (select day of the week -> select the Castlevania link (or wait for it to cycle by if it is today's post) -> select the orange button). i'm not sure how to get to older feeds though (considering the one on Friday's page has a #2 in its name). hopefully there's an archive somewhere.

Of course he's a guy. All the newly introduced characters for the Drama are guys. It's a real sausage festival. It would've been nice to see a new girl, or even have Annette appear and voice her concerns about Richter.

since an Incubus is a master of illusion, they might choose to reveal themselves as a handsome man in their victim's dream, while in reality they would look more like that thing in the picture. Magnus's appearance may give us some indication as to Maria's taste in men.

Of course the CV Incubus isn't going to look like a classical painting's depiction of an Incubus. I mean, if that was the case, all the Succubi would be depicted as just fully naked and voluptuous women. It's rare, if anything, to see Succubi dressed in ANY classic representation, nor featured demon wings. The whole S&M Succubus is more of a modern depiction.

So, has anybody found full-bodied (or at least larger) versions of the character art yet? I've been experimenting with the site's IMG directory, but haven't found anything aside from the little profile pictures and the Richter banner everybody knows about.

The fact that no full sized picture exists as of yet makes me think that Konami has yet to officially release the full sized character art for this. I can't see a situation that they will. It's not a video game.

Ok, I made a mistake. They actually did start the radio drama last week, I just didn't listen to it long enough past all the talking to hear it.
On week five it starts at 17:44
On week six (this week) it starts at 22:23
I haven't listened to the first one yet. But I did listen to this weeks. I can give you a very very very general idea of what happened. (I'll try to get a better translation later, unless someone here can understand it and would like to instead :) )
It starts off with Cyril and Alexis. They come upon a town where they think a vampire is. Then they have a conversation about Cyril's father, and how they don't know where he is.
Then we go to Maria, who is in town buying tomatoes. She can't stop thinking about Alucard. She gets a letter from Richter. (not sure about this one but I think he says he is looking for Alucard but can't find him.)
Maria is outside at night and meets Cyril and Alexis. They tell her it isn't safe and she should go home and leave everything to them because they are vampire hunters. Then they leave.
Maria senses someone is there. Magnus appears to her. He's very vain and talks about his beautiful wings. He tells Maria that he feeds on human "chi". She tries to attack him with her birds but they don't have any effect. He mentions Alucard and tells her that Alucard is actually evil. She doesn't want to believe him. They fight some more. Then Magnus leaves.

Anyway, that's the gist. Like I said, it's a very simple understanding of what happened. So if anyone feels like they can elaborate, please feel free. I'll see if I can get a more precise translation, and maybe get the first one done also.

i want to see if my theory about Cyril being the first Morris with the Vampire Killer whip and Alexis being the first Lecarde with the Alcarde spear turns out to be true. i'm looking forward to a translation of the part of episode 7 where they discuss the Vampire Killer. also, is Alucard really evil? he sounds awefully low key with no hint of malice in his voice, but he seems to have said something that upset Maria. maybe he's just going on about how much he loves his father now...

Looks like I got a couple of the names wrong. I looked at the filenames of their profile images (which I'm assuming is correct) and found they didn't match Google's translation. "Cyril" is really "Silyl" and "Ryudomiru" is really "Lyudmil".

Cyril sounds best. For Ryudomiru, I just call him "Ryudomir", which seems the best combination of Japanese and European names. Ending with "mir", like "Vladimir" sounds more fitting. The "Ryu" portion means dragon, which fits with the whole Dracul/Dracula connection to dragons, as well!

I dunno. Hopefully it will span until just before the new PS3/XBox360 storyline begins.

Sorry I've been gone so long. Had my wisdom teeth out. Wasn't very fun. At least I had OoE to keep me busy and my mind somewhat off the pain.
Anyway, episode 10 is up.

And here is the gist of Chapter 1:
Opens up with a girl running through the forest at night. She's late for something. A man appears and asks her why she's out so late. He says he will escort her home. She declines but he grabs her by the arm and drains her blood. (I think they are trying to insinuate this is Alucard).
Then there is an Intro. It says in 1972 AD, Shaft raises Dracula but they are defeated by Richter Belmont. Five years later Richter undergoes a dark change and disappears. Alucard awakens from his sleep. He meets Maria. Alucard fights Richter. Alucard fights Shaft. (there's a funny aside here. Shaft tells Alucard that Richter was basically possessed. I couldn't quite understand what was actually said though. The closest thing I got was that Richter possessed Dracula's wallet. Which is wrong, but very funny.) Anyway, Alucard swears by his Mother that he will defeat Dracula, then does. Afterward Maria asks what Alucard will do now. He tells her that he is cursed and useless in this world and leaves. Maria follows after him with Richter's permission.
One year later (the time of the Radio Chronicle).
Alucard is either dreaming or deep in thought. He is alot younger in his daydream/memory, about 22. A man comes in and asks him about his mother, if she is a witch. He tells the man she isn't. But she can help people who are sick.
Then Alucard snaps out of his daydream and realizes Maria is staring at him. She asks what he was thinking about, he says it is nothing. She gets upset because he never talks to her about anything. (this is great) He then summons his Imp and says "If you want to talk, you can talk to him". She says she doesn't want to talk to his Imp and starts getting angry at Alucard. Imp tells her not to yell at his master, she should be thanking him for all he does. Then she starts ignoring the Imp, which pisses the Imp off. He yells "Bitch, don't ignore me!". She asks Alucard if he wants any food. The Imp says her cooking sucks, Alucard agrees. Maria gets so pissed off she leaves, slamming the door behind her.
-End chapter one.
All in all it's a lot funnier than I thought it would be. But I guess it would be kinda boring to have Alucard just brooding all the time.

wow, it sounds like after Magnus assaulted just about every character in the story, Richter Belmont shows up and gives him a little dose of the Vampire Killer and he's toast. i wonder if that means the story's wrapping up? or at least getting to the point where dracula returns or something. it also sounds like Lyudmil succumbs to fatal wounds inflicted on him by Magnus. but, what do i know?

First off, I played my old .wax files and they still loaded. And so I WAS going to ask if anyone had .wax files of the earlier eps. But then I found out something awesome:
You can hack your .wax files to stream the earlier tracks.
Open up your draculaxx_xxxx.wax file using a text editor.
See where it says .wma? That's the link to the file. Notice how it's got the same name as the .wax file?
Replace the name of the .wma link with the name of the earlier .wax files:

I found a Chinese site where someone had somehow snagged and uploaded all the original wma's (they had all but episode 1). I cropped the files and resaved as MP3 so that it's JUST the drama segment now. The radio part might include some important information, but these are what most people are interested in.

Thanks for your effort in translating the Drama to English. This is not because I'm only enjoying it but I'm translating it to Arabic for all arabian Castlevania fans.
Anyway,I wonder if you guys translate all the ten episodes to english 'cause I think there is more to tell about Magnus & Ryodomiro. As per Ryodomiro, I'm still confused of his sudden appearance .. how could he make it for the last 350 years ? Well, I know he's a vampire ( I assume ) but where has he been ?
I know I've to wait for the game, but a few ratiocinations won't harm ... I guess.

i'd say episode 11 was up and put up a link to it, but, who cares, the drama's over and they're just talking in it. i wonder how long they will continue putting out new epsisodes without actual content? i hope they post some spoilers about the upcoming PS3 game. not that i'd ever hear about it though.

Well, I managed to sit down and listen to the entire thing. I can't say I was terribly impressed with it, and got tired towards the end (probably shouldn't have done the entire thing in one sitting!). But I'm not convinced there's really anything of deep interest happening here [except for maybe some discussions about the Vampire Killer and Richter]. I got pretty confused in the 5th episode because of all this fighting going on.
I don't think the content of the story is anything to write home about - it doesn't sound like they have anything real dramatic happening, and it may be best to consider it as Iga playing around with other media, maybe getting people excited over the 360/PS3 game.
The basic story (kind of a recap) is that there is a vampire on the loose killing young girls in a village. Magnus accuses Alucard of the deed to Maria, who's mind becomes (unnecessarily) clouded by it. Silyl and Alexis, two vampire hunters, are on the scene trying to solve the problem, too, but seem to have been tricked by Magnus somewhere along the way. Lyudomil seems to have also been manipulated by Magnus over his beliefs about humans and vampires (related to Lisa's death). Richter comes out of hiding to help. Alucard and Richter fight Magnus in his lair and they kill him. Lyudomil dies, as does Silyl.
I think that Magnus's motive was to resurrect Dracula. I think he was using Lyudomil to help do it, but I don't know enough Japanese to figure out a whole lot. But what do I know? Maybe somebody (Danial? Raven-kun?) can give a better summary of the whole thing than what I have below...

So far, we've got a fairly detailed summary of episodes 1, 2, and 4 earlier in the thread, so I've linked to those. Here is my summary (along with links to previous posts), which undoubtedly has some errors in it:
Episode 1: Vampire attacks a girl, prologue (story recap with dialogue from SotN), Lyudomil discussing Lisa with Alucard (6:30), Maria and Alucard talk (8:30); Maria leaves in a fluster and Alucard leaves with his Imp familiar. [See Danial's post - #116 - for a detailed overview]
Episode 2: Silyl and Alexis are looking for the Vampire and wondering what happened to Richter, Maria is in town looking for ingredients to make a treat for Alucard (1:40); she gets a letter from Richter that talks about the vampire attacks and suspects Alucard of the deed (3:00); Silyl and Alexis run into Maria in the forest (4:30); they talk for awhile and then leave. Magnus appears and taunts Maria (5:35), accusing Alucard of killing the maidens (6:55); they fight, Maria gets caught in the incubus trap (10:15), but breaks free (11:10). Magnus flies away. [See #90 and #91 for a detailed overview]
Episode 3: Maria tells Alucard about Magnus, and she has doubts about Alucard; Meanwhile, Silyl and Alexis are in the forest and they kill a werewolf with holy water (1:40); Richter was watching the fight, and doesn't think they're good vampire hunters (3:00). Meanwhile, Alucard and Maria are talking again about Magnus (5:25), and Alucard gives her contrary information (basically confirming something that Magnus said). She runs off in a fluster (8:10) and Alucard goes out as well. Lyudomil and Alucard talk in the forest (8:40) and the topic of Lisa comes up again. Lyudomil leaves (10:55) and then Magnus appears (11:30). He taunts them (and I think he does something bad to Lyudomil) and uses black magic to choke Alucard and the Imp (12:30). He flies off, leaving Alucard all beat up. [See #96]
Episode 4: Maria is out looking for Alucard and runs into Alexis and Silyl (0:50). They talk about this 'medicine' and are off to use it, but Maria stops them and the vial crashes on the floor (2:50), releasing black magic. Richter comes to the rescue as Maria passes out (4:00). Richter and Alucard talk (4:15), then Maria wakes up (6:35). Alucard leaves and has a quick discussion with Richter (7:40), and his imp familiar tells him a vampire is near. [see Raven-Kun's detailed translation/summary #106].
Episode 5: This one was pretty confusing for me. Silyl meets up with Richter and says that Alexis has run off to fight Magnus; he runs off to help. Meanwhile, Alucard is in Magnus's lair (1:05). Alexis appears and confronts Alucard (1:30). Someone (either Lyudomil or Alucard) attacks Alexis. Lyudomil says some things that Alucard doesn't like. The Silyl appears and attacks with some holy water (3:50). Mangus shows up and it seems that Lyudomil might be aligned with Magnus now... The Imp gets attacked (5:45), and then Lyudomil (I think) beats up Silyl (6:15). Richter shows up (8:00) and Alucard disappears into another room. Magnus taunts Alucard some (9:00). Then Lyudomil says something about Lisa (10:15) and later on, Lyudomil seems to be morphing into some sort of monster (10:50). Magnus taunts, preparing for battle.
Episode 6: Richter fights some bats. Lyudomil continues to morph while Magnus taunts (0:25). Then Maria shows up (1:00) but gets attacked by magic (1:25). Alucard goes to her aid, and Lyudomil gets attacked by Magnus. Meanwhile, Silyl is dying, with Alexis and Richter by his side (3:15). Silyl suddenly realizes something important and tells it to Richter in his dying breath, Richter then proceeds to attack Mangus with the Vampire Killer (3:50). Alcuard and Richter fight Magnus, who is now unfocused. He gets sliced by Alucard and then dissolves into dust or bats (5:30). Alucard talks with his dying friend, Lyudomil (6:00). [See also #117]

Well I know a little. I can pick out some words here and there, but it's mostly recognizing who the characters are, and sometimes (like in the big battle) it's difficult to tell who is saying what (particularly when it's just people screaming). There were some interesting phrases that popped up once in awhile like 'Dracula hakushoku' and the discussions on Lisa. I figure those are pretty important to understanding the plot.
Oh yeah, I don't think the Imp was ever given a name. He's just 'Imp.'

Do you think that Lyudmil is the vampire who actually sucked the blood of those village women instead of Alucard? Was he the vampire that the Imp was alarmed at when he said a vampire was nearby?
Is Maria living with Alucard at this point? I think that's what the google/babel fish translation of Maria's profile meant when it said that she and Alucard "acted together" after the defeat of Dracula. Are they also living with Richter? Judgment says that Maria was adopted into the Belmont family, so I think Richter was her guardian after the events of Rondo. She's 18 in the drama though, so she might be living with Alucard alone now (and if she received a letter from Richter, he was either living somewhere else, or was away for a while). I'm trying to add some of this detail to Maria's page in the Castlevania wiki.

Well, I'm not sure. It does seem fairly clear though that Alucard and Maria are living together - remember, she ran off with him at the end of SotN. A young, unmarried woman living with a...well, unmarried man (especially a 300-some-year-old dhampyr), though, that's kind of scandalous for that time period. I think it's fairly certain though that Alucard loves Maria, based on his protective concerns for her in episodes 4 and 6.
Richter I think lives by himself (or rather, with Anette). Maybe in a hermit hut or something if he's no longer living in the village (maybe he helped rebuild it like Trevor?).
As for the vampire... Well, the two culprits are Magnus and Lyudmil. My suspicion based on what I could understand and deduce was that Lyudmil was the vampire and he was driven to attack the maidens by Magnus. My guess is it's revealed in episode 5, but that one is very confusing.

Ok, so those do seem like reasonable conclusions anyway, cool. I did finish rewriting the Maria's character history in the Castlevania Wiki with details from Dracula X Chronicles, the radio drama, and other sources (spent pretty much half a day on it). The profile has plenty of "probably" or "maybe" statements in it in reguard to the radio drama events (everything was based on posts in this thread), but I think it'll do for now until we have a line-by-line translation of the drama.

ppl here could redo the music and others ppl here could do voice acting wouldn't that be bad ass ;D
not saying the voices would be that good being fans but hay could be cool :P
anyway hope to see a full text translation at least, by an cool japanese/english speaking castlevania fan wanting to bring it to use as well ;)

even though the American fanbase is the largest, and far more supportive than the Japanese, Konami and Iga almost always pander to the Japanese fanbase over the American one. Iga has stated many times that he is trying to get more Japanese people interested in the games. Which is fine, but they pretty much ignore the American fanbase in doing so. So I really doubt they will even bother translating it. I also don't think we will get an American version of the pachi-slot and there might be a slight possibility to get the Arcade game but only because of how well the Wii is doing.
Maria and Alucard live together. Maria loves Alucard. Alucard doesn't want to get close to Maria because he doesn't want to hurt her. They haven't slept together. Although funny in some places, the Drama has the overtone of anime-cliche that most of us wanted to keep out of CV.

Well, we still have the WMA's from the Chinese site, so they're at least the original broadcast files (as far as I can tell...). Given the recent batch of Castlevania soundtracks, I wouldn't be too surprised if the radio drama also showed up...
