Kind of actually curious to see where the story goes, and that chained up Act 5 Grimoire is just sitting there. TAUNTING ME.
Does anybody know? I'll take official reports, rumors, or even just educated guesses. I just don't want this surprisingly decent Castlevania ride to be over so soon.

Over time, I think. No idea why on Apple Arcade they just...relaunched the game, ignoring all of the Chapter updates. Chapter 5 was the last update to the Android version, IIRC.

I've been keeping an eye on Konami's Twitter and I haven't seen a thing. In fact, they barely tweet about GoS. So far as I know, there is no news to be had.

They aren't "ignoring" the updates so much as they are starting over. They reworked a lot of things, so it makes sense to me that they would begin with the initial version and add the chapters over time, just like with the soft launch. Chapter 5 was not in the initial version of the soft launch.

Seems logical. Unfortunately, given that this is Konami, the "team" they have handling this is probably like 6 guys who don't even have backgrounds in game development and were simply assigned the job because they pissed someone off higher up the chain. So I'm not gonna hold my breath waiting. Oh well. At least I have Trials and Orders to grind and gear to upgrade whilst I wait.

since they recently had a Halloween event, i’d like to think they’re still actively involved with the game and we will be seeing further updates.

I mean, ideally, I'm hoping the delay is because they're taking the time to also come up with an Act 6.

If it actually helps to complete the game and get us the whole story of that game, that wouldn't be bad. It would just be nice to see if Hermina was actually a villain or not. I suspect not.

Yeah, I suspect Death is pulling strings, trying to get his Best Friend back and seeing her as an accessory to that effect.

Whether Death or not, it certainly follows the standard Konami writing style to introduce supposed allies, like Seward, and then rug pull to reveal that Seward is in service of Dracula's cult while Hermina was actually working with Soma to prevent him transforming into the beast. Order of Ecclesia had a similar plot structure (minus Soma, of course).

My favorite Aria of Sorrow-era joke that I made about Death was an "explanation" for why he just... attacks Soma Cruz without a word even though Soma is Dracula's Reincarnation.
Death: <sees Soma's soul> Oh shit, it's YOU!
Soma: uhhh... have we met?
Death: OH NO! MY BEST FRIEND IS BURIED INSIDE THIS KID!
Soma: <increasingly concerned> UHHHH WHAT
Death: <wildly swinging Scythe> IT'S OKAY DRAC OLD BUDDY!! I'LL GET YOU OUT OF THERE!!!

It probably is close to the truth. If Death kills Soma, Dracula's souls is freed to move on to another host and maybe this next person wouldn't be nearly such a goody-two-shoes.

Chapter 5 was released today. I'm told 6 was added as well, but I have yet to play and confirm this myself.

I would be interested in confirmation on that as, if it did include chapter 6, then the game has officially gotten further progress than it ever had before.

I just played both 5 and 6, so I can confirm it.

I loved both chapters 5 and 6, the bosses are awesome. I am sure a few more chapters will drop in 2022, and they will finish the story. Some artwork that I think it’s new has been datamined in the update. I really hope they add Soma as a playable character.

Quick Youtubing and looking for asset datamines does indeed confirm Chapter 6 is a thing and it's out. Very Rondo inspired.
Also new Trevor artwork, that Dracula artwork from the 2018 beta is now in the game, and we have a full portrait of Hermina. We eatin' good here.

I kept putting this game off but I really need to go on and give this a go. I owe to myself as CV fan—and now that I finally have some time to actually do it.
