May I ask wich Software are you using ?

I tried with Ableton and Sony Acid Pro 9 and it doesn't seems to work. :-\

Also, I'm a ''beginner''. I never Installed Soundfonts or plug-ins.

Now Jorge can do an extended remix for the violin intro in authentic N64 sound quality!  ;)

The same program  ;D Synthfont. And to get the instrument from a N64 game i used the N64SoundListTool.
Excellent program! but you can't use it with all games.

Thanks for the download!

I'm happy that you got the samples you got.
I've been examining them and here are my thoughts.

The good:
-The samples are accurate
-There are many of them.
-You got a lot of the nuances for each sample correct.

What you need to work on:
-Some of the samples are out of tune.  I suggest downloading "Wtune", a Tuning Fork program, and adjusting the base waveforms to a proper note.  Alternately, you can use your soundfont creator program and tune the waveform samples in-software by cents.  I'm testing the soundfont out and I'm finding that I cannot use the samples in conjunction with other samples because they are out of tune, either too sharp or too flat.

-The sample names do not match their sound.  Your "guitar" actually sounds like an Electric Fingered Bass.  Your "PianoC" sounds like a Clavichord (Clavi). Your "Tamb" is a timpani.  Your "viol" (Violin) is actually String Ensemble. Your 'tuk' (?) is "Pizzicato Strings"), your 'pin' is "Orchestral Harp", Your "Bass" is a Bass, but it's a Synth Bass 1.  Your "Tamb2" is a "Melodic Tom".  Your 'trompet22' is "Brass Ensemble".  Your "??" is an Oboe (but at lower octaves can be an English Horn and Bassoon).

-The sample names do not match their number.  They're not standardized yet.  This is OK but it would be a cool thing to do for the next version of this soundfont.
Flau (Flute) should be 074
Org (Organ) should be 020
etc.

Here's a link if you want to learn what patch goes to what General MIDI number:
**clicky** (http://www.midi.org/techspecs/gm1sound.php)

@TheCruelAngel:  I'm afraid not.  The violin you hear at the (awesome) Castlevania64 Intro was played by a real violinist, thus there is no sample for just one note, so you cannot built a soundfont out of it.  If you ever beat the game you'll find that the end credits credit the violinist.  If a sample in the ROM is found, it would probably be for the entire sequence of the violin played, not just one note.
Of course, if such a sequence were found... people like PHBelmont and I can splice up a few notes out of it and create a violin soundfont...

Oh, those patch numbers on that website?  You have to subtract 1 from the patch number to be Synthfont accurate, as Synthfont uses the patches as Base 0, not as Base 1.  That's a programming standard that I figured I'd mention.

Here are the edited instruments.
Castlevania 64 Soundfont by PHBelmont - Edited by me :P (http://www.mediafire.com/?0wwmac8tf0482xf)

I tuned the instrument samples as best as I could.
I gave the instruments proper General MIDI Banks

You might want to go back and edit their loops because some of them 'pop' when looping.
I think there are some instruments missing but there are enough here (obviously) to make full songs.

Yeah! for example... This song sounds like a song from the N64, and contains some of their instruments.
I think this song could be very nice with the N64 instruments ;D

This song always reminds me the Castlevania 64:

Indeed, some of music in Dawn of Sorrow sounds like Castlevania 64, and there's a reason for that.

Both Dawn of Sorrow and Castlevania 64 share one composer: Masahiko Kimura.
Masahiko Kimura also worked on converting the music from DraculaX: Rondo of Blood, to SNES chiptune music.

It's possible that some of the non-Rondo tunes (such as the pre-battle ominous music used before the first boss in the SNES game) were done by him.  However, since there are multiple composers credited for Rondo of Blood and DraculaX, this is cannot be confirmed.

Now i understand everything! that's really interesting!

The first time when i heard one part of the song "Dracula's Tears" i was thinking that song is a remix of "Castle Center" from Castlevania 64.

Oh... Castlevania 64 was my childhood :'(
but changing the subjet... I made this recently. But the last instrument sounding in the song isn't from the castlevania 64 soundfont. That instrument is from the Command and conquer Soundfont for N64 (nothing to do).

"The first time when i heard one part of the song "Dracula's Tears" i was thinking that song is a remix of "Castle Center" from Castlevania 64."

This is what i mean! it sounds very similar.

Now i have more instruments! ;D they can be heard in the song... So i will upload it soon.

When you get to the chime instruments used in the Tower of Sorcery, you'll be able to recreate the last instrument at the end of the Dark Chapel music loop.
Sounds great so far!

Many Thanks, Jorge! ;D

Now i'm gonna extract not only the instruments, now i will upload the sounds and conversations of the game, because with the N64SoundListTool is possible. :P

Strange as this may seem I have noticed that the instruments for LOZ:OOT and Paper Mario 64 sound remarkably similar to CV64's and CVLOD's instrument set. (I have a soundfont based on instruments from Zelda 3 and OOT made by TSSF if anyone is wondering)

Although I may not be available all the time (stupid social life, always cutting into my projects!), I can try and help like I did before.

EDIT:
Here's a little test I did. (http://www.mediafire.com/?s55v5sccl207i84)

Nice sample, but it only works with long, sweeping notes.  You couldn't use it for short notes because the attack is too long.

I have Patricio's Soundfont and a Castlevania 64 and Legacy of Darkness roms (I didn't have these two games in my childhood :( ) and his SF sound a bit incomplete,so....

Here's a soundfont I tried to rip from the CV roms....

....And some examples:

I didn't made the MIDIs.... I just took The Pinnacle from some site I forgot.... (But I think who made it was Jorge Fuentes) and the rest, from vgmuseum.com/mrp/ (Author: Mina-chan)

I did it because of a old topic named "Castlevania 64 Instruments! (link)" made by PHBelmont and this soundfont is like a gift for his great Castlevania remixes, but why not share with anyone else?
So.... enjoy! :D

Up-to-date 07/14

I update the soundfont and their respectives examples musics:

- Sorry for the Demon Guest House error  :-[
- Sorry for the sound mess called DoS Vampire Killer, but if anyone liked it (?), it still up there  :)

Up-to-date 07/26

Soundfont updated again and now with the Intro violin..... but as Fuentes already said, this notes are long and it's very difficult to make them shorter....
And CoTM Vision of Dark Secrets (vgmusic.com) is there as violin example.

Up-to-date 08/08

Soundfont updated with new instruments and with the Mysterious Coffin Soundtrack bug fixed.

Final (?) Up-to-date 31/12

First: Happy New Year, mates.

Now about the Soundfont:

- I managed to short the Violin's sound. It's in New Violin for people who liked to use the old long one.
- Bongos :D
- Different crash cymbals for each Drumsets.
- And Master Librarian's Theme for Bongo examples.

Sorry for the very long time to make this update post, 'cause I'm working on a 'lil project. >.>

So... Enjoy! :)
