Famitsu Scores (Castlevania)

Famitsu is the most widely known and largest Japanese gaming magazine. In its reviews, four master editors rate games from 1 to 10, so 40 would be a perfect score.

Geeze, it looks like the 2D games are taking a downward spiral.

At least the 3D CV's have gained a +1 since their first debut... which is rather odd. :0

Don't trust Famitsu. They gave FF12 a 40/40. If you didn't know the battle system in FF12 is a MMO battle system, on a CONSOLE SINGLE PLAYER GAME. It sucked big time, yet they thought it kicked ass. They also think CoD and LoI are 8.5/10 material. I could kinda agree with LoI, but CoD? come on now.

I like it over the oldschool style you can choose to level up or just journey to the next area you aren't constantly randomly thrown into fights. That got old real fast.

Yeah, but there were so many ways around fights. You could get certain items that would stop random fights from ever happening, and you could run away pretty easily. The story of 12 was pretty cool, and the characters were pretty unique, but the gameplay was so horrid when compared to any other FF. I think one of the best battle systems they did was with 10, the sphere grid, 7 with materia, and 6 where you learned things from summons. FF9 was a lot like 6 as well, 'cept with items, and it rocked too.

Well yeah but getting those items is really tough for most FF games and running away isn't a sure thing and is still time consuming.

I don't know I thought XII had a sort of a World of Warcraft feel but took skill and didn't take near as much time as WoW to level up. My favorite is IV cuz there's random battles but they didn't go crazy with them and most of the time you can beat the enemies rather quickly and the story was so superb. I really feel for the characters in that one. I also love I, II, VII, IX, and XII too, VII was such an epic game and I love it almost as much as IV if it wasn't for the super easy final sephiroth fight. 2 Knights of Round and he's toast. They should have made him crazy hard like Zeromus.

7, 6, 4, 9 and 10 are my favorites. Not in that order though, just like those FFs the best out of them all. FF7 is easy as shit, I could get to the Weapons, and beat them with a single try. Also, I had my guys all with mastered 4X cut, so I'd have my characters attack seph 2-3X and he'd be done.

Nice scores.

I'd always trust japanese reviews more nowadays. Maybe I'm too biased or something, or my EGM's and Gamepro experiences float around my head like some flesh-eating virus..  :-X

Japan is on it's way out as far as being THE athority on video games in general.  All they like are quirky affinities such as dating sims and their same-ish JRPGs. And they liget sea sick when there is too much action on screen...
forget them
