Title: Most beautiful Castlevania character
Post by: Pfil on January 21, 2013, 09:00:47 PM
So, what do you think about sexy looks from Castlevania characters?
You can talk freely about anyone you consider to be beautiful, sexy or whatever, and why is it that you think so.

I personally find Juste to be the best looking Belmont, Alucard to be the best looking male character, and Charlotte to be the prettiest Castlevania character ever, though Maria comes close to her.

But, if I'd have to say only one, I'd go with Charlotte.

Anyway, I believe almost all characters from this saga are beautiful (in terms of beauty), and that the gothic aspect makes them all to have some sort of sex appeal.

What do you think?

I personally think that all the pretty-boy Belmonts would be better as actual women. Then they'd have an excuse to look they way they do. In terms of pretty, Alucard is as far as I would allow myself to go as he seems able to pull it off without going overboard like the rest. And despite the fact that Alucard is a pretty-boy he's got manly features that help balance his look.

That is Ayami Kojima's androgynous style.

Anyway, I believe almost all characters from this saga are beautiful (in terms of beauty), and that the gothic aspect makes them all to have some sort of sex appeal.

You have to thank Kojima for that too! Oh wait... IGA also has a hand on this. He found her gothic illustrations at a doujinshi shop.

I have to agree with both of you that Alucard is the best looking male character.
Juste is pretty too, but his character design seemed to look like some of the characters Kojima made for other things.

Probably Shanoa. Not sexy but beautiful. I dont think Castlevania should have any kind of sex-appeal :D But Shanoa's sprites are really well made and her movements are very graceful. For example her double jump is probably the best in the series in terms of animation.

The best looking character would have to be Richter. If i had to picture a guy with a whip killing endless creatures, he would be him. He's got the whole imma badass look going on and he obvioulsly has the best boots... unlike Alucard who has Hobo's shoes :o

Male: Alucard is a very good-looking fellow.  I particularly like his Arikado disguise.
Female: Shanoa or Laura from OoE.

Shanoa. Not only because she's beautiful. She looks like a witch, and that in my opinion makes her a perfect Castlevania character.
And I like Soma. :) I thought he's a girl. Now I know he's a man and I feel disappointed. But only a little...

Shanoa -- beauty, intelligence, and strength in one graceful package.

Alucard is totes hot, yes. Most men in the 18th century looked pretty...well pretty-boy-ish. It was the way of the people. I actually kinda like 'em pretty like that...what can I say? I like a man who appears to wears more eyeliner than I do. Strictly anime/manga/art speaking though, not in real life.

Lady wise, Maria hands down for me, but Shanoa was a lovely lady & I liked the face of Sypha from Judgment. Just wished she'd had longer hair. Sonya was a down to earth, 'of the people' kinda gal. She was physically attractive, but not over the top. Her beauty for me partly came from her strength & iron will while still expressing her femininity/basic humanity-being all in love eith Alucard, fighting Dracula for the sake of the people or whatever. That's just my perception of it all.

I agree with everything you said.
Indeed, 18th century men tend to look beautiful almost always.

So far, no one has an opinion about my favourite pretty character, Charlotte :(

But thanks to everyone who answered anyway :)

lol Thanks. I think Charlotte has this girlish cuteness to her. I mean you can definitely tell she's young & she seems to exude that youthful energy, the idea that you're immortal & unstoppable. She's confident & fearless with a drive to succeed for herself & the people she's fighting for. She's sort of a teenage big sister, even to the older Jonathan. She's also got kind of a bookworm thing going on, just sans glasses, but leave the almost school uniform garb. She strikes me as tomboyish to a degree with a little tsundere tossed in as well.

All of the CV females are lovely ladies, each one with their own charm to me.

Again, absolutely accurate! I agree with your view about Charlotte and I also love all Castlevania ladies! :)

Castlevania's female characters are really pretty and strong. You can feel their strength even if they are not the main characters. It is sad that there are too few female leads. Maybe the reason is that the fanbase is predominantly male.

I think the same, but I also think that there are a lot of girls that like Castlevania, and games in general, but that companies tend to ignore that fact often.
That's in part why I like it so much when some company thinks about us and includes a female lead, like Platinum with Bayonetta.
Here we are, on this topic alone we are 4 girls that like Castlevania :)

I've long had an affinity for all sorts anime female characters with long black hair, like Kiyone from Tenchi Muyo or Sailor Mars, so when Shanoa came along and fit that mold, and beautifully so, I was pretty happy.

Good to see all that Shanoa love. She's in my opinion one of the best female lead designs in gaming (sans the heels, if you took those away it would be perfect).

EDIT: Whoops. Forgot this was in the Classic Castlevania threads. Yeah necroposting is mostly a non-issue here.

PS- SotN Alucard and classic barbarian Simon.

SoTN Alucard. CoD Trevor. Isaac. AoS Soma.

And don't use this as an excuse to insinuate some twisted sexual connotation into my reply. I'm a huge fan of Kojima's artworks. That's all.

Alucard all the way in his SotN appearance.  Long, white-blonde hair, pale skin, and fangs are all to my liking.  I also discovered a liking for pale golden eyes as a result of Al.  I must say that I've also grown to really love Alucard's Lords of Shadow incarnation as well, especially with the proper views of him with pale skin have been released in the Vengeance trailer.  That said, however, I find most of Kojima's other beautiful men are rather hot, especially Trevor and Mathias.

I'm a big fan of Kojima. But I prefer Trevor and Simon's classic looks myself, especially Simon. Effeminate men can be very attractive, but so can more masculine guys.

Yes I know that this is a dead thread. I just wanted to mention that this thread has over 1000 views and this is only the 28th post? I have heard of lurking but wow.. Lol

Oh and out of actual respect for the thread and because posts don't cost anything. There is just something about that Succubus character. Reminds me of my ex wife i think. Hot and evil.. Yep, that was her alright. And evil in exactly the same way :/

In general, morning star, you shouldn't bump threads which have been dormant for so long, but since you added something to the discussion I'll let it slide. Just don't do it again.

That said, yeah, I think the whole "hot *and* evil" draws a lot of men to a lot of women both IRL and in fiction...the former with many ill results D:

SotN's Alucard. No doubt. He makes the fangirls swoon.

I had posted something else here but thought twice about it..

I guess i just won't do that again then... As an admin on another site i will just mention that maybe the rules are a tad strict, lol. If you don't bump a hot topic with a necro, what difference does it make other then giving people a chance to flex those big moderator muscles a bit :D

LOL! I never had this experience before. Sorry you had to go through that. I knew Alucard was a dude from the beginning, and not just because of his name that I recognized from CVIII, but also his facial features. While Alucard is androgynous-looking he definitely has more of a masculine facial structure then most of Kojima's art. For some reason Kojima didn't go overboard with his designs as she did with some of her other CV art.

I was just joking around man. I was kinda just giving Koumori a friendly hard time. A little jab at the style of the art. I knew he was a guy. Like you said, from Castlevania 3 and the name Alucard, is not easy to forget either  ;D

Mathias/Gabe/Dracula. Because while Alucard is beautiful, that man is fucking gorgeous. Seriously, he's far better looking than BOTH of his wives when he was a human, with that dark hair and fair skin complexion.  Admit it, when you saw the picture of him dipping his wife and giving her love eyes, you WISHED it was you. You know you did ladies.  And any guy that can still manage to be smokin with elf ears and Blanka hands/probably feet deserves respect.

He's even sexy in the Lord's series, something that is arguable with Alucard.  As Gabe, he has that rugged, movie star kinda good looks. As Dracula...so damn sexy.  And the fact that he adores not wearing a shirt only adds to the supreme man service. (Thanks Mercurysteam!) When he smiles, you want to smile. When he smirks, you wonder what happened to your panties because you don't remember when you took them off, they were gone so fast. And if you're a guy, you contemplate for a brief, split second if you might be into guys because hot damn, look at that sexy smirk!  Don't lie. I saw that look you had when you saw the Lords of Shadow 2 trailer.

Beautiful but in the most platonic way: DXC Maria, since she looks like innocence and joy incarnate in art.

Beautiful in the carnal way: LoS Carmilla. Extra points for actually looking human tho.

Beautiful male: Alucard probably, both versions.

Insectiality ? :/ I like the official artwork too. That character reminds me of something out of Berserk.

I also think the Artwork for the Succubus in SOTN and the sprite for the Blue Alura Une was intriguing in a dark/ mysterious way.

They all look good but,

Ritchet because he looks like an animated, character
Maria because she is so adorable, cute, and all kinds nices ( the PCE version )
Carmella, I can never get over her boss battle ( the PCE version, the new one makes her boring, and without point ).
Kid Dracula ( Alucard before the PSX ), I mean the seires could have gone farther.
Death, PCE version, I can't get over the introduction, and his two transformations.
Alucard for the PSX, but duh, of course he is a pretty boy, because he is the son of a rich evil tyrant. Look at W.
The Gameboy origin female character. Sonia Belmonth. She is like Ritchet but censored.
Neo-Dracula reborn, the Violin N64 kid ( I am a bit confused if this was sappose to be Alcuad or another kid, or even Dracula )
Rosa, from the N64. She is suppose to be like Lilith or Carmella. Kinda depressing, but nice looking
Drac from CIV because it was probably the last time we would see the normal, commercialized Dracula from movies, books, asides for
Drac from N64. He was off the charts scary, not including Neo-Dracula.
