We included Monster Dance more as a reference to how the monsters start appearing in towns when night falls in Simon's Quest (and since I slept on recent CV content, Smash Bros remixes were a pleasant surprise for me), and to show how Dracula's generals are ruthless under the command of Hector and Isaac (compared to the Game of Thrones of the original season 2), plus it fitted perfectly playtime-wise, but yeah, I can see that.

I also didn't like the "Trefor" bit myself (and since Trevor was "Ralph" in the original JP version, it's even more silly), but it's probably one of the least offenders when it comes to the animated series' humour. It also gives some lighthearted comic relief at the moment of peace and makes early signs of Trevor and Sypha getting close, so that's why we kept it in.

Yeah, the influence Netflixvania might have on the new titles is concerning. I'm myself not too excited about Belmont's Curse, but we'll see.

I enjoyed the readme file very much though  ;D a nice piece of Castlevania history, there were some things I didn't know.

I've been watching another hour of it, it gets better.
Isaac faceswap is hilarious.
I have a problem with using Monster Dance & other CV music for the Netflix massacre scenes (the ones committed by monsters and vampires). Because Monster Dance, to me, is the music of a hero facing the horrors of the night, using it this way makes it feel like Godbrand's theme. Basically there's the unintended effect of glorifying an already excessively glorified violence scene on innocents.

Looking back at the Netflix content made me realize how much influence it had on Belmont's Curse  :-\
There are some shots of the Castle in the middle of Targoviste that are essentially THE SAME as in the game's trailer, except it's Paris.
But also the lore about the Belmonts hailing from France...Leon moving to the East...Trevor deriving from "Trefor" (Dead Cells even had a joke about this in the Trevor's skin description). They're going to make all of this "canon" and I'm conflicted, because I'm worried they might integrate the bad parts too.

I myself didn't want to include some bits (like how Trevor turns the mob in Gresit while facing the head priest and such), but without those the progression and logic of the scenes would've been too awkward, so we had to keep them in, since we didn't have any more material to use as an alternative.

I mean, fair enough; I myself hate the original Netflixvania with a passion (and that's why I wanted to make something good out of it - at least I don't have that feeling of embarrassment while watching our Cut), so that's perfectly understandable. Thanks for checking it out!

Some minor new clips

-Candle Stick-

Another famous feature following the meat.
Breaking it occasionally drops items.

I don't know, the music sounds like total garbage. The candlestick also dropping the same item as the zombie (coffee?) rather than hearts or money is weird but w/e.

Sorry but I couldn't stand watching more than 1 hour of it.
I just despise the source material too much, and stopped around Trevor's stupid speech.

Off Topic / Re: Music you've been digging lately

I've been somewhat familiar with Running Wild over the years, but I decided to go through their discography since they have like 44,785 albums. Man, this scratches a power metal and sometimes hair metal-ish itch I've had, lol. I even like some of their stuff that's supposed to be crap compared to their earlier standards.

Playing through Lies of P on NG+, including the Overture DLC. So fun! I'm really liking the parry mechanic on this one. The timing requirements feel strict, so it's always awesome to pull off a series of parries and proceed to stagger a boss. Using big bonk weapons like I normally do in Souls games, lol.

The DLC final boss is ridiculously hard, though. At least phase 2 is. I actually had to use the summon to beat him, which I really hate (I never use summons in Souls games and Soulslikes, because I'm a dork and need the validation like that). But storywise, the game really pushes you to use the summon. Think I'll try it again solo on NG+, though. He's way harder for me than Promised Consort Radahn was (pre-patch). But man, he looks so friggin' cool and is fun to fight.

Making a new thread for my passion project. It's been a minute as I completely scrapped the old code and completely restarted rebuiliding the code from scratch last year. It's been an arduous journey but everything is finally coming together. I just posted a gameplay demostration video showcasing some of the abilities for one of the characters. There is alot I still haven't shown as well as some additionally abilities still being added to the game. Please ignore any bugs as the game is still in production phase. Feel free to ask questions or add any ideas or suggestions in the comments, I will do my best to answer everyone. Cheers!

Fan Stuff / Vampire Blaze now on Steam (for free!!)

That's it, the well know CV fangame "Vampire Blaze" now is avaliable on Steam to be played for free!
This is a really old fangame released on 2007 where you control an assassin contracted by the church to dispatch demons attacking the city and later Dracula himself in his castle,

It have some novel features like using the game's subweapons as normal weapons, the knife for example can be used to stab enemies and alsoo be traditionally thrown at the cost of cristals (the equivalet of hearts in this game) and can also dodge/parry attacks depending of what weapon you have.

This game had a free-to-play version but also a commercial sold only in japan, that added another playable character, the vampire hunter, that plays much more your average Belmont, stronger than the main character but also but takes more damage, as well as a different path inside the castle with new stages, music and bosses, but this Steam version is based on the complete one, with perhaps some changes (i just managed to find the exchange of cross for a boomerang for now).

it'sa really challenging but great fangame with excellent soundtrack and now running on modern pcs and FOR FREE, go grab it man!

I've been on a classic Mario kick. Played through Super Mario Bros. 2 on NES and then immediately followed it with the GBA version on Switch's NSO/Nintendo Classics app—though I still gotta finish Yoshi egg mode. It's an interesting version of the game, like a big remix with more replay value and more reason to explore each level.

Then I realized I've never beaten Super Mario All-Stars on the Wii disc, although I played the hell out of it on SNES. Went through SMB2 on there, beautiful remake, probably the best version of the game. Then beat SMB1, got a couple worlds into Lost Levels (I'll get back to it) before firing up SMB3 and going through that. And man, Super Mario Bros. 3 really is like the best game ever made, objectively. You just can't go wrong.

Figure if I'm still hankering for Mario, I'll go through World again. Been a number of years since I've played it.

On the side, playing Splatoon 3, and I don't know if it's 'cos I just started but I'm doing really poorly. Like, I thought I was pretty good at the first two games, could splash paint and splat foes like a muddafugga and usually in the top two on my team. Now I'm getting last every time. Dunno if something changed with the third game, or other players got better, or if it's my loadout, or what. I'm only like level 5 so some of the weapons aren't even unlocked yet, so I guess I gotta chip away until I'm "good" again or equipped well enough.

Then been revisiting The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ on Switch, and playing a little Fowl Damage as well.
