Castlevania III Dracula's Curse as a Dungeon Crawler

Has anyone envisioned Castelvania 3 as one of those DOS era Dungeon Crawling games like Ravenloft: Strahd's Possession, Anvil of Dawn and such?

http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/ravenloft-strahds-possession

Hence you play as Trevor Belmont, Sypha Belnades, Alucard, and Grant Danasty in the same party crawling through Dracula's castle in a checkerboard board like fashion or the best I can describe Dungeon Crawlers?

Or should I go back playing D&D Ravenloft?

I never thought of it but that actually sounds neat. Then again, I like playing dungeon crawlers. I'm guessing most people around here wouldn't care much for it, unfortunately.

There was that ZZT thingy back when, but I think you'll need to DOSBox it after you fish it from the Dungeon's misc sections.

Sounds about as promising as turning Zelda into Skyrim Lite.
