Ha, it does!  ;D
I'll try making it a bit less 'bouncy'.  :)

In the meantime, I made a revamped CV3 Sypha. Feel free to use it, I'd be glad. It's only a prototype for another character who will be featured in my CV3 hack, so I'm most likely never going to use this sprite for anything else.
EDIT: whoops forgot to make the other hand stand out, fixed

I made another whip animation for Trevor. It's supposed to be a bit more fluid, and is based on ZiZ's whip, which you can find somewhere on one of the thread pages. (I can't remember where) I haven't added a 'whip blur' yet, but I will soon.

Yeah like Lelygax said, it looks like a Yoyo.  It's very smooth though! nice job.
It reminds me of Soma's Whip Sword, or like Goemon's weapons from Legend of the Mystical Ninja.

Does anyone know any 16-bit/32-bit games that had cool underwater maps? Like underwater cities, or atlantean themes.

Yeah, it's a bit of a combination of Richter's SoTN whip and Fake' Trevor's Whip.

Personally I've never been fond of either of those styles of whip animation. That said, your work is of quality nonetheless. What I've always wanted to see done is a whip animation like the one they used in the La-Mulana remake. Don't know if it would "work" for Castlevania, bit I'd still to see it for myself.

Have a showable example that is easy to notice?

edit: Portrait of Ruin Sprites ripped by me:

Divine Storm's rain particles

Explosion smoke particle

Explosion smoke particle 2

Explosion

Hearts

Holy Water's flame (below ones, not these mini)

Smoke (from great falls. intense moves, etc)

"Weapon Crash/Special Arts" thing spark effect (forward, forward + attack button)

I'll put all the whips and their respective effects in a ZIP, since they are more than 10.

Hmm, I've never played the La-Mulana remake and I can't find any sprites for it anywhere; what do the whip animations look like?
