Le Manuscrit Maudit (The Cursed Book) is a French CV-related book, released earlier this year. It's very nice (I own one). Text only and deals with every CV games from CV1 to LoS2 (preview only as the game wasn't out when the book was written).

You can ask if you want more details or pics.

Assumedly it's in French?  Is there an English one, or equivalent?

It's indeed in French, and as it was written by a French person, I don't know if there's an English version.

I want more details and pics, like what it says about these games for starters.

Basically, the book first deals with a production timeline (from CV1 to LoS2) -- it only focuses on the production and types of games (2D, Metroidvania, 3D, remakes, spin-offs, cameos) in this first part. Then, you have a second part presenting the stories and characters (traditional timeline, non-canon, LoS). And there are two small parts about the music (Yamane and Araujo).

It has no real pictures, except black and white sketches to present the various parts.

Pics (sorry they're a little blurry):

Feel free to ask me about the book.

What they say about Simon's Quest? lol

Thanks, this book seems to be very well made, but some pics here and there like in a D&D book would be more interesting to me, pure text bore me some times.

IIRC, the Simon's Quest stuff is quite general: the game isn't difficult by itself, but it's super confusing. The author also wrote a part on the game's production.

And yes, the book is great. It has a solid/rigid cover, and the cover is very well done. You can feel it's a fan who wrote that book.

Haha, time to put a request in the "Translation Thread" for this. :P
