I recently stumbled upon the Youtube channel of akiropito, one of the composers of Rondo of Blood. Six years ago he uploaded a video which contains an early version of Divine Bloodlines. According to the video description, it's from a tape that he sent to Konami back when he first joined the company. The video also contains two other songs that he composed from the game but were ultimately rejected. These are called "Adeen" and "Castle of the Moon". You can take a listen here:

Longer version of "Castle of the Moon":

Amazing find Nagumo! Thank you ! I actually like Castle of Moon, the longer version is very good, sounds like something that would fit more into something like Ys rather than in a Castlevania game, so it doesnt' surprise me it didnt make it into Dracula X ost (: Again, thank you for sharing these

These are impressive! And yes 'Castle of the Moon' sounds much more like a classic Ys track then a CV one. It's still good though! It's a shame there isn't a higher quality version of Adeen.

I visited the composer's channel and there was a higher quality version of 'Adeen' but under the different name 'Fudeen'. There was an intro music of Divine Bloodlines near the end of the video.

Was he hired partly or fully based on these three demos?

Thanks! After hearing this version I'm still getting that Ys vibe. I guess Castle of the Moon wasn't alone there. Still an interesting track though :)

These are some hidden gems of tunes that I never heard of them before. Had similar level of impact when I first heard the Super Castlevania IV early English commercial version of Bloody Tears.

Holy shit! What a find! Nice job Nagumo!

Castle of the moon is sick. Yes there's a vibe I'm getting other than CV (I can't comment on Ys as I haven't played any of them) but it's mystic and slightly eerie...... Hauntingly beautiful!

Check out the early Ys music (the classic games 1 through 5, not the newer ones) then listen to this song again. You should hear the similarities.
