Title: Castlevania Hell's Lullaby
Post by: Simsure on November 15, 2020, 02:44:07 PM
Hello, some times ago i made a small Castlevania fan game for a jam, the theme was "retro gaming" so i took the original style of NES-vania and made a modern version out of it. Set years later the events of Castlevania 3 - Dracula's Curse, embark in this adventure alone or with a friend in local multiplayer impersonating Trevor Belmont or his son Evan Belmont.
Let me know if you like the game, find any bug, and if i was successful in catching the feels of a classic-vania game <3
You can download the game from here:
GAME JOLT https://gamejolt.com/games/castlevania-hell-lullaby/508951 (https://gamejolt.com/games/castlevania-hell-lullaby/508951)
All the resources come from the 3 original NES games, with some exeption, all evan sprite was made by me, same for the idle animation of both trevor and evan.

Ouch! Simultaneous multi-player style in a CV game might even be more painful then Contra ???

Finally completed the game what an unexpected final boss! Fantastic game thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you for playing. I know about the zoom, but i really wanted to recreate the NES view size on a screen.
I used a simple sin() movement for the hearts, tweaking some values should make them more like in the original games, but i don't see it as much of a problem.

The game is good. I actually reviewed it over on ICVD.
I read and really appreciate it, thank you very much for the analysis, criticism and compliments. i love reading comments about my work, and that's the first full review i get from something i made with passion. Thank you <3
