Yeah, it takes ages for Pure Bladestone to drop. I was the happiest clam in the entire world when mine finally did.

Hehe, I know what you mean. Mine just dropped after maybe 50 or so runs (not counting all the times I got killed). When I got it I was like, "...really? Already??" Pleasant surprise.

Playing on NG+ now. The Maneater fight seemed more tedious than usual...he kept flying around out of my reach, especially when I'd be a hit or two away from finishing him and the 2nd one was on his way.

I think I have all of the "problem" bosses out of the way (except for maybe the False King...he'll probably kick my ass at least a few times), but still have the entirety of World 4 to go. Something tells me I really won't like 4-2 this time around...

EDIT: Woohoo! Got the platinum trophy! Now I'm going into NG++, duping my beast soul with the Stockpile Thomas exploit, leveling to 712, and just screwing around in general. Want to see what kind of damage I can do, especially with the Butcher Knife and Blueblood Sword.

Let's be careful to keep this thread SFW, but yeah, Nightmare Sphere has surprisingly good gameplay for what it is. However, the premise of the game is...not to everyone's taste, to put it mildly :p We've probably mentioned it before, as a Castlevania Clone it's quite good, but the porn stuff can be...offputting ;-;

Gave up on my idea of hitting level 712 on Demon's Souls...just got too boring. It was kind of cool seeing what a Blueblood Sword could do in NG++, but I just lost patience after level 620.

Started Dark Souls again instead. Think I'll mess around with spells this time. Things are opposite for me this time around: I thrashed the bell gargoyles with a Claymore at level 20, but got my ass kicked by the Capra Demon. Ornstein and Smough were really easy for me the first time (not sure why), but I have a feeling they'll mop the floor with me when I get to them on this playthrough.

Okay, officially beat every boss in Castlevania POR aside from Dracula. (Playing as Richter/Maria on Hard max L01 cap).
Form 1 Dracula is the most difficult boss in the game imo. I have a pattern down and have beaten him, but with 6666HP the fight takes its sweetass time.

Balls-deep into Bloodborne at the moment, hoping by the time I'm done, the rumors of a Demon's Soul remaster will be true and the game's well on its way. I've never played any of the Souls games and I'm excited to backtrack and check 'em out in time for Dark Souls III (highly doubt I'll play 'em all by then).

I played Dark Souls for a while, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
I don't mind challenging games, but it is stupidly easy to be killed for the first 5 or so hours of the game, and it literally discouraged me to the point of a permanent ragequit.

I prefer games which give you more agency in whether you live or die, and are more forgiving of your actual deaths.

As for what I've been playing recently? Halo 2 Anniversary HD Remaster and Ryse: Son of Rome on Xbox One.

343 prettied up Halo 2 SOOOOOOOO MUCH. And Ryse: Son of Rome might actually be the prettiest damn game I've seen on ANY console. Not surprising, give that it's a CryEngine game, but impressive nonetheless.

How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Already mentioned but doing Fallout 4. after playing through the game for a while I find it feels depressing. But that's just the ambient background music getting to me. And there's not a whole lot of variation either. My fix was this; turned of the ambient music and instead turned on my mp3 player to supplement the background bgm. I had a blast!

I need to get back to Bloodborne soon, with the new DLC and all. Damn good game. Kind of wished they did more with the Insight...that was a pretty cool idea.

You can replace the songs of the ingame stations with your own files as long as you keep the same names

currently 400+ hours into MGSV: TPP. just got into FOBs a few weeks ago. dang this game is incredible. FOB is like MGS2 on steroids.

I don't know how the game kept your interest for 400+ hours. It's easily my least favorite game in the series. I'd rather play Metal Gear Solid 2 40 times than finish Phantom Pain ONCE. Where's the plot? Where's the story? Where's the character interaction? If I wanted Far Cry, I'd play Far Cry.

Metal Gear Solid V: THE FULTON PAIN is a fun game, but after finishing the "campaign", I never once felt like I'd played a Metal Gear Solid game, much less one by Hideo Kojima.

It's pretty clear to me that Konami ruined this game during production by being, well... KONAMI.

I just started a new run through the Mass Effect Trilogy to psyche up for ME: Andromeda, myself.

I'm playing an Engineer for the first time ever, and this is my "Let's be a total asshole to everyone in game 1 and see what happens for the rest of the trilogy" playthrough.

Speaking of MGSV, i've not yet finished that game. It's funny. I've completed almost all of the entire series not counting the acid titles since I've never played them. Not fond of card games like that. The three games I cannot seem to complete are MG Portable Ops, MGS Peacewalker, and MGSV. I not sure why that is. Maybe I find that they go on for too long where-as the earlier games were the right amount of playtime and the only thing I had to focus on was the mission at hand--not constructing and running a business.

Peace Walker is the REAL Metal Gear Solid V.
Hideo Kojima even confirmed as much in several interviews during the game's development -- the development team actually referred to it as Metal Gear Solid 5 during production. The general inference seems to be that Konami wanted Metal Gear Solid 5 to be a big AAA console release instead of a handheld game, and made them change the name prior to release to reflect this.
And trust me, the finale of the game is SO WORTH THE EFFORT. Finish it.

The HD remaster is pretty definitive, and the Metal Gear Solid 4 style controls make it a bit easier, if that helps any.

As for the Ac!d games, I love them. 2 was definitely better, but one can appreciate that they have their own independent canon that branches off from Metal Gear 2 and assumes MGS never happened (so as not to screw up the official timeline). It also was a pretty novel reinterpretation of the MGS playstyle, and it bums me majorly that they were never released on the PSN.

Portable Ops was... okay. It didn't tell us anything we didn't already know if we'd played Snake Eater and listened to what Liquid and Big Boss had said in prior entries, but it was a commendable attempt at bringing the playstyle and graphics of Subsistence to a portable format. It was mostly successful, but the issues that ARE there are pretty effing glaring. I think if it were available to download to Vita, the second analog stick would alleviate many control issues in the game, but alas, it is not. As a result, Portable Ops is best remembered as an interesting experiment that ALMOST worked, but mostly served as a testbed for Peace Walker to come along later and refine.
