Just to add, I hate Mean Bean Machine.

I think it's a better version of Dr Mario/ Tetris II

I agree. I just wish its AI opponents weren't so ruthless. It seems like you have to luck your way into a good chain to beat them.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

I'd rather play the game it's based off of, Puyo Puyo if I do say so myself. More likeable characters than what Sega gave us here in the US (Sonic, etc).

True, and I don't get what facing opponents actually means.. You get numskulls saying things like "I'm Grounder.." annnnd so what? Is the player supposed to be Sonic? There shouldn't be a story or cut scenes, it's pretty stupid.

I think a similar game that isn't as ruthless is Baku Baku.

I think I would've been a bit more fond of Mean Bean if it used badniks from Sonic 1 and 2 (and CD along with Metal Sonic) as well as the classic Eggman design than making it a tie in to Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.  Very confusing to me as a kid, and I imagine it would be to other newcomers nowadays.  Also as memetic Pingas Robotnik is, that just made everything more confusing.

Of course, the writing would prolly be crap anyways so things would stay the same (I wouldn't try to beat the game).

Grounder is a badnik from Sonic 2.

He made sense in Sonic 2 (that was actually a really cool stage) and wasn't uninteresting as he was in MBM.

I have to admit finishing MBM on the hardest setting was hella rewarding though, it is a decent game all in all.

Grounder is a badnik from Sonic 2.

I know Scratch, Grounder and Coconuts are based on Sonic 2 badniks, but they're more based around the AoStH incarnation.  I guess what I meant was designs more closer to the game.  Ah well, I've spent too many words on Mean Bean Machine.

Good Job! That game is f**king hard!

I...er...used save states.  :-[ There's no way I could beat Stage 2 legit.

But it was weird because on the Ultimate Collection disc, it was giving me unlimited lives. I never remember that from the original. Maybe a bug?

Puyo Puyo is fun to play but the only legit copy that I have of it is the mini game version found in Project Mirai.

That surely would've helped along with savestates when I was playing it on the Sonic Mega Collection (no savestates, exactly like the Genesis original).  Memories of getting to the final level only to get fried.  How many times have I smelled Robotnik's socks?

LOL! If you can remember that, then it's been too many.
