Out of any clue, Team Ladybug decided to make a shump instead of 2d metroidvania or 2d action title. At first I wonder if it's going well given the medicore reception of Deedlit, but in the end it's good enough for their first shump game.
I wonder what else will be their next 2d game title.

Checked out some of the screenshots. One of the bosses/enemies looks like the spider boss from R-Type 3. That game is hard.

The latest version added some sort of collision protection trigger so the "touch the wall and died" Gradius syndrome is now a mere history for easy and normal. Yeah it's a welcome change!
It seems that Android version was also planned but eventualy abandoned. A console port is possible?
