I guess this would be the thread to show of the magnificently large chorizo sausages God hath given me the privilege to mold and hold into existence this weekend.

Please note that it is encouraged to stroke them periodically to help the juices inside to dry out for maximum flavor.

Might be, but I still kinda hate myself for being a lazy fuck.
I mean, I wasn't really all that diligent when I was going to music school, but for the past few years I kinda ditched the guitar altogether. I also can't hear the intervals or sing decently anymore. So yeah, just kinda mad at myself for taking some things for granted.

Wellp, I'm also elementary level at literaly anything that isn't a guitar, especially brass given how much I smoke these days, so there's that :P

So I got overthetop drunk and got in a physical fight with my friend(known each other for 10+ years) and he left my goddamned  birthday party. I know I'm in the wrong because I'm currently still under the influence of alchohol, but seeing how many members of this board are much older and much more experienced with such matters I wozld love to hear what you think is right. Because at this point a simple "I'm sorry" nust won't cut it.

It's true that apologising will only get you so far. There are only so many times you can say you're sorry before it wears thin. You will need to make it up to your friend over time to help recover the relationship. Get to know him again, hang out, do things that he'll be thankful for. I would also recommend cutting back on the amount of alcohol consumed during bar visits or parties. Know your limits and don't go overboard. Be a responsible man that a friend can count on when times are tough. Wish you luck bro  8)

Wanna know what's tarded? Here I've got a girl who loves me and wants to spend time with me, and I go and develop this big attraction over the course of a year and a half for a coworker who's married (sort of), has two kids, is a vegetarian (I like eating a good burger with the gal I'm with), and I'm pretty sure I'm not her type anyway even if she were to consider leaving her man of ten years. BUT, we have a damn good time working together and we make each other laugh a lot and she's pretty and <Carl from ATHF>has nice boobs</Carl from ATHF> and here I am just falling for her like a big dummy instead of just being cool with our friendship. Why are guys so gay for women?

Wellp, cuz feelings are always tarded. My buddy has told me that he's not into guys, take a wild guess who is still my biggest crush fiveish years after the fact. I'd say listen to your head over your dick heart when it comes to a situation like this, but you surely know that by now.

It was only a matter of time: I got the 'rona at work, in spite of all the mask wearing, hand washing, and area sanitizing. Once my hick coworker tested positive, I knew it was all over because he's a very spitty kinda talker and he wears a stupid neck gaiter instead of a layered mask.

Quarantined for the next ten days, can't return to work until the 14th. Guess I'll use this time to clean/organize my room like I've been meaning to but haven't found the time because my job owns my soul.

Gonna be doing A LOT of beating off, since I know you're all curious.

From your descriptions it sounds like you boss is being quite unreasonable since you followed COVID-19 protocols and your spitty co-worker did not.
Title: Re: taco taco
Post by: Abnormal Freak on December 06, 2020, 01:44:11 PM
That's how I feel. It's a dumb situation where I didn't inform them that I had a COVID test done, which I did out of precaution. No symptoms, so it's not like I came to work the next day thinking I was sick. But just the fact I didn't tell them is what got me in hot water.

I'm considering looking into wrongful termination, but man, who has money for a lawyer. I don't think I wanna work for that company anymore anyway if that's how they're gonna treat their employees.
Title: Re: taco taco
Post by: X on December 07, 2020, 09:29:47 AM
Well with all this COVID crap it might be a good opportunity to look for some online work. I don't know what all is out there (and some of it can be pretty shady depending on the work) but it should net you some income without having to go anywhere and risk infection.
Title: Re: taco taco
Post by: Abnormal Freak on December 07, 2020, 02:36:56 PM
Yeah, especially when companies aren't following their own protocols. Close contact has been defined by the CDC as being within 6 feet of a person for a total of 15 minutes over a 24-hour period. In that sense, everybody on my line has close contact with one another every single day, and HR acted surprised when I told them the people I worked close with on Wednesday.

I got a little worked up on the phone when they fired me and I said how they haven't done their part to protect us, mentioning that the breakroom is always filthy with food crumbs and smears on the tables every break, since they haven't had a constant cleaning staff for at least four months. Trash cans are overflowing in the breakroom and the restrooms. Just a mess of a company.

My coworkers and I have said how COVID is soon to spread like wildfire at this place, and I think it's already begun since they had 8 positive COVID cases last week alone. Back in May they switched us to four 10-hour shifts, supposedly so we'd be in contact one less day of the week. Well, the week after we made the switch, they started mandatory overtime Fridays and Saturdays which still hasn't let up. And they claim employee safety is their no.1 priority.

Fuck 'em.

Post by: Abnormal Freak on December 09, 2020, 01:54:26 PM
Found out that the doof-fuck who I'm pretty sure got me sick was given a written corrective action. Small justice. Considering he actually infected people and I didn't (my coworkers I named as having close contact with all tested negative), it's still bullshit that I got fired.

But I have a herniated disc in my lower back (injured myself in April outside of work) and was seeing their physical therapist probably too often for their liking, so they were probably looking for an excuse to can me. Probably thought I was a liability. It never affected my work, however, and I never claimed workmen's comp or anything.

Firing me also fucked me out of my $2,500 bonus so I'm sure they were pleased as pigs in shit to save that money, the greedy corporate pricks.

Title: Re: taco taco
Post by: Abnormal Freak on December 10, 2020, 07:14:33 AM
Yeah, it'll bite them in the ass some way or other. My friend who works on the line called me yesterday (it was her first day back since quarantining) to tell me everyone was pissed that I got let go, and they all said I was the best worker. Feels good knowing people are angry for you and appreciate your hard work.

And I guess the numbers are going to shit. You're supposed to make a certain number of engine heads every day, and they've got a new trainee that I didn't get to train, and he's doing shit all wrong and making bad parts that have to be reworked. That takes time and resources and really kills production. So hey, maybe upper management will see they fucked up.

In the meantime, it reeeaaally feels nice rolling out of bed at 8 a.m. instead of 4, and getting to see my kitty run around the yard like a maniac. I haven't taken the time to breathe and enjoy life very much with these 60-hour work weeks, so it feels really good to relax and let my body heal. Even discovered a YouTuber who does great critical analyses named ThorHighHeels. Great channel, lots of crossover in our personal tastes. (Anybody who makes frequent killer7 references in their videos is a winner in my book.)

On an unrelated note, how long do y'all usualy need to know for sure you love someone? I've been with a guy for about a month now(although we texted a bit before that) and still can't say that I like anything about him other than the way he looks. I’ve heard so much about Berserk over the years that I finally got a copy of the first volume a few months ago, but I have yet to begin reading it. I guess now is the time...
Title: Re: taco taco

I honestly never got into Berserk or other mangas of the type. I guess Battle Royale rubbed off on me in a bad way that anything in a similar vein isn't worth my sanity or time. But to lose an artist is to lose parts of human culture to be sure. Be it music, art, story-telling, etc.
Title: Re: taco taco
Post by: Abnormal Freak on May 20, 2021, 04:38:41 PM
Never read Battle Royale, only seen the movie, but I don't see the correlation between that and Berserk. Unless you just mean dark, violent manga in general.

Berserk isn't all grimdark though. Its major theme is about humanity and the struggle and will to survive.

I got through like 11 or so volumes some years back, always meant to keep reading—except now it's been so long, and with the release of the deluxe oversized editions, I decided to start over lol.

Some of the most amazing manga art, if not THE best, in my opinion. Kind of a cross between western and manga style art. Miura was insanely talented, and really had a unique vision and storytelling sense. Also, like any good artist, he didn't try to hide his influences (Verhoeven's Flesh+Blood, Hellraiser, the phantom from Phantom of the Paradise—even if these were all pretty superficial pop culture references, it was still cool to see what he'd borrow).

Thanks, guys. Been with that girl for seven years so I'm excited for many more and starting a family and that.

Injured the shiiit out of my back a few years ago from a car accident, didn't realize I had a herniated disc as a result. Sorta healed on its own but got reinjured spring last year, and I've been seeing a chiropractor ever since. Just went back for the first time in six weeks because I was spending too much money there and have been doing better since I got a steroid injection in September, but my lower back's been feeling tight so I needed to go. The nerve the disc was pressing on is so thin and damaged that I may have tingliness going down into my foot for the rest of my life, though hopefully it'll continue to repair itself and won't be an issue. At least now, after the injection, I can sit down for more than 10 minutes without being in a lot of pain or discomfort.

Anyway, all this to say that the stretching of my back and disc felt so good today that I could nut.

I think it was a clerical error but I couldn't get hold of anybody before offices closed on Friday, so first thing Monday I'll have to call and straighten things out. Really hope that amidst this goof, my position at the proper place hasn't been filled.

But I've got a cool supervisor and awesome coworkers, and there's a lot about it that's five times better than my previous job, so I think I'll be here a while. So I put in my two weeks' notice last week, lol, last day is Thursday. Turns out my supervisor is a gigantic dick, just couldn't see it before. He plays these weird little mind games and is very discouraging. I could write a novel about why this job actually sucks big-time asserino, but it's all a bit complicated and bullshitty and I'm just ready to be out of here.

Don't know what I'll do next, I just know I've been miserable the past six weeks. The other electricians on my team all experience the same mental torment and then some by our angry, manipulative boss, and I said "hell nah" and decided I wouldn't be miserable alongside these dudes—guys I like working with but not enough to stick around.

Kinda sucks because it's the highest paying job I've ever had, but everyone says it's kind of a gantlet being here and that any amount of time spent working here, especially leaving of my own volition, will look good on a resume. Might go for more electrical work, don't know. There's jobs hiring for considerably more than what this place offers and they don't require much experience.

I do know that I'm gonna take a break for at least a couple weeks, refresh my mind, go for walks again to strengthen my back and lose weight, and just try to gain some happiness back. I'll help my dad out at his business in the meantime, which are hours that I choose. I know that wherever I go, I'll demand maximum 40 hours a week, because mandatory overtime is garbage ass.

Dunno how the weather's been for you guys, but Minnesota had the most brutal winter I've ever experienced. Normally you'd get some 30 degree days with sunshine to balance things out, but we had a month-long stint of temperatures going no higher than 9 degrees Fahrenheit and often dipping below zero. And the thing that made it the most difficult was all the wind that never ceased and cuts to the bone. It felt like we were in a tundra.

Anyway, it's finally warming up and most of the snow is gone thanks to a week of wonderfully sunny 45 degree weather, but now spring rain season is here and it's bumming me out 'cos I just want sunlight. I haven't been in a good place mentally and I need to get out of this slump. Part of that is wanting to go for walks at the park, because my old man back really needs it, but bundling up to go outside just didn't sound like a good idea at all this winter.

9 Fahrenheit (-12 Celsius) is nothing where I'm from (north of 60th parallel). The coldest I've ever experienced was -47 (-52 Fahrenheit) with a humidity, windchill, and ice fog. If you were experiencing a cold that bit down to your bones then it was -12 with high humidity. That kinda cold sucks and I can sympathize as it take a good while to get warmed up again. Sometimes all day long  :P

We get a lot of brutally cold days too, but normally the temp goes up every once in a while to warm you up, with the sun enhancing your mood. It's felt like we had very few days like that this year and I guess that's what's made it so tough. It's gotten to -20 numerous times with windchill bringing it down to -45, whatever "feels like" temperature means. (The way it affects your skin, I suppose.)

Been working a new job since May. It's at a bakery, and I've been saying for a while now I wanna get back into baking so here I am.

There's some stupid BS as with any job, but I'm trying to stay positive and just do what I like to do: keep my head down in my work and ignore the drama.

Pretty sure I'm still at that work hardening stage because I'm pretty beat by the end of the week, but it's satisfying.

A quarter or third of the people I work with don't speak English or not very well, so it may be time to start learning Spanish.
