On October 29th at 6:00 Central time, TheSpeedGamers will be starting a 48 hour Castlevania marathon to raise charity monies.
TheSpeedGamers have been putting on these streams for over two years, and have raised over $235,000, including over $57K during the 2010 Week of Mario, and have made multiple appearances on the Dallas-area news. During the marathon, they will be dressing up for us (Our beloved founder has the misfortune of going as Princess Toadstool), prizes will be given away, foolish things will be done for our entertainment, and merriment will be had at their expense by our energetic and very active community.
The games to be played will span the spectrum of Castlevania history, starting from the early history of Castlevania II and running the gauntlet from Super Castlevania and Castlevania 64 to Aria of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin, just to name a few of the eleven games that are planned for the event (and if time allows, who knows what else may be played).
We at TSG encourage everyone to stop on by if you have some time during the Halloween weekend. Even if you can't contribute, just being there adds to the overall experience for all of us. Recently saw one for the Ghosts N Goblins/Ghouls N Ghosts/Super Ghouls N Ghosts trilogy for Red Cross, not sure if they reached their monetary goal though.
