Title: Who Muv-Luv here?
Post by: Super Waffle on April 08, 2019, 09:32:04 AM
Who on CVD wastes their free time playing bloated dating sims with giant robots that advocate militant Japanese imperialism?

I know Gunlord is out there somewhere.

I play a lot of visual novels and I got the Muv-Luv trilogy for Vita, but I haven't played them yet.

I've got Tokimeki Memorial for SFC, but there's no mechs in it (I have the puzzle games for the series too, no mechs in it either). Of course I can't play it due to not knowing the language, and would probably be the only dating sim I'd ever own, unless I want Taito's Magical Date on the PS1.

I've got a Days of Memories game for the NDS, but I can't read Japanese so all of these SNK women just get mad at me for reasons unknown.
It's not my fault they're trying to pass Mai Shiranui off as a highschooler.

I still want to experience Kao no nai Tsuki & Elysion: Eien no Sanctuary

Muv-Luv has always been one of those things I admired from afar.  I dug the character design style and found some humor in Purple & Red's resemblance to the Kimi ga Nozomu Eien chicks, but that was it.  As the 2000s carried on I noticed it popping up again with a darker vibe as Alternative; seemed to be pulling its own EVA sorta thing.  I think they did an anime, too.

Maybe she's just a really meaty highschooler.

I got both of the Vita releases and I found the original Muv-Luv so insufferable I threw in the towel with the whole thing. I guess the third one is supposed to be super amazing but I don't have the patience to get through this one.
