That's really interesting, Bloody Rayne. I'm a historian myself, so I was wondering, which books would you recommend on Clueless/its influence on the 90s/the 90s in general? Sounds like something definitely worth getting into :o

I've decided to not post anything specific on the 90's or this page will be longer than the internet!!

DO IT.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

I've often said that if I could rewrite my personal history, I'd move my birthday to 1975. I'd grow up and enjoy the awesome kid culture of the 80's (seriously, the 80's were a great time to be a kid and being born in '89, I missed all of it by that. much.), go to school through the 1990's (avoiding a lot of the strife that faced young adults during that era) and enter the working class JUST AFTER the dotcom bubble exploded.

I suppose I should count myself lucky that I was born in 79. I remember the 80's decade despite being very young and lots of memories, though fleeting at times, were enjoyable. Ah good times. And when the 90's rolled around it still felt like the previous decade. But then the feeling wore off around 94 and became something else entirely, and I felt I'd lost a part of myself as well. My bro relates more to the 90's despite being born only 18 months after me. He's strange that way, lol.

Yeah, I'd definitely say that mid-'90s was best '90s.

I had forgotten that Capri Sun used to turn you into the T-1000.

Along with Gushers turning your head into fruit. Which was horrifying in hindsight, but back then everyone would pretend their heads turned into fruit.

Never forget that the 1990's gave us one of the greatest Peter Jackson films ever.

All hail the collaboration between Peter Jackson and Michael J. Fox.

Aaaaahhhh, Clueless.  I remember that.  The 90s also gave us the brilliance that was Buffy the Vampire Slayer (including the super-cheesy original movie that was very Clueless with vampires in it at times), Highlander the tv series (and animated series), Cardcaptor Sakura, The Crow, Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula, and Interview with the Vampire, which even tho this day has influenced my fashion tastes.  I also acquired a love for Alisha's Attic's music (to which my best friend and I still stick on and listen to now, approaching 20 years later).  The end of the 90s also provided us with 10 Things I Hate About You...... oh, and last but not least....  the Nineties gave us The Matrix.

As usual, Tumblr cracks the freaking code.

It's certainly true for me.

The Sailor Moon series first appeared in the 90's as well. We got it in 94 I believe, but in Japan it was released in 92.

Gundam Wing was my very first introduction to Gundam and all its awesomeness.

Likewise, brudda.

Later I got into everything Gundam had to offer up until the end of Seed Destiny, but it all started with Wing.

I miss the Pojo's Unofficial magazine series that explained the history of various anime franchises back in the late 90's and early 2000's. The Gundam issue I read and reread until it fell to goddamn pieces on me.

OH MY GOD BARNES AND NOBLE HAS IT LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE.
