It might end badly but my guess is this is just Un chestbeating to impress his own people and keep them under control. Make sure that the populace views the hardships of the sanctions as a result of "American/UN evil" instead of stupidity and stubbornness from their own government.

If N. Korea actually tried to strike against South Korea or especially Japan I expect China would put their foot down HARD. And Un knows this. China and Japan don't exactly like each other right now but China knows that war is bad for imports/exports and manufacturing, on which they thrive. Chinese aid stops and N. Korea implodes on itself. I'm convinced the primary reason China still bothers with North Korea at all is that without their aid hundreds of thousands (millions?) of starving North Korean refugees would spill over into their boarders.

If they seriously think they will sucker-punch the U.S. and survive the combined retaliation by the most-certainly-pissed-off-UN they will have another thing coming. I'm no "HURR AMURICA NUBER ONE WRLD NUMBER TWO" guy but the world does NOT fuck around AT ALL when it comes to nuclear weaponry, not after the horrors we unleashed on the Japanese. North Korea would almost certainly find themselves staring down the military arms of most of the world who will be all-too-eager to prevent World War 3.

Why Persians wants a nuke when they have a dagger that controls time with sand?

Many of us were born prior to the fall of the Russian communist state so learning that N. Korea has Nuclear weapons should be nothing new. At least that's how it is for me anyways. I won't let fear or paranoia get in the way of living my life. If the leaders of N. Korea want to threaten world peace because they still have a bug up their collective asses then they will be all alone when the rest of the world closes in for the kill. And I have doubts that Dennis Rodman would allow himself to put up with that s**t either. He's an athlete and a movie star. I don't think he'd tolerate a nuclear threat to his country or other countries for that matter. But what he could do is try and coax N. korea out of using those weapons for everyone's sake if at all possible.

Anyways, I don't think North Korea's going to nuke the US.
