In a Dictatorship there are no rights. The right to vote for your leader is non-existent. you would have no choice and no say in the matter. that's how it's always been with that kind of system unfortunately.

To be honest, as long as there are ego-driven leaders out there then the practice of a dictatorship is always assured. And of course N. Korea isn't the only dictatorship out there either. You will also find many countries in Africa that are under the iron fists of cruel and vindictive leaders seeking power at the expense of their own people. It's stupid and should not be tolerated on any level of the imagination. But unfortunately it's how the current world is.

Its sad that we cant do anything about that, since we need to respect their own laws and culture. We shouldn't interfere unless they ask for help.

Not really...

There is always a right to vote. In this case it's voting with your guns... and the ones with it is choosing to go with him.

That said, you guys are underestimating NK, I think. Think about it this way... in the NK's leader's mind, he probably doesn't have as much to lose as the US. Something like that, may be easily pushed over the edge. I don't think he'll win, but he might decide to go down while trying to do as much damage as possible.

It's too bad they don't have oil, or else they would be busy fending off invaders. US included.

If they go down without winning its pointless, sorry but its not Call of Duty or Age of Empires, if they didn't gain anything they simply didn't attack.

North Korea is not even a Socialist country anyway. It's some sort of an Asian nepotistic autocracy where the leaders make their people starve simply because they feel like it. At least the Soviet Union TRIED to make their system work.
I mean, look at Un. He's a friggin puppet. No doubt the ruling elite is keeping him in power only to preserve the totalitarian order.
Jeez. The people of Iran at the very least UNDERSTAND that that their government is oppressive and evil. I don't know whether you can say that about NK.

NoKor people cannot voice their opinion. Anyone who opposes the ruling elite, gets killed.
Some people tried to escape their country. Unsuccessful people are caught and killed.
Even those who were partially able to escape in other countries are tracked down and killed.

Well, I suppose most people there just accept their situation in order to live. Brainwashing by the regime might also work.

That's amusing.

North Korea is not that stupid.

No actually, it probably is. Un is fooling himself into thinking he can actually take on the U.N. with the threat of nukes. if North Korea Nukes the US, the US and it's allies declare war on NK, or worse, nuke it back.

If they nuke South Korea, South Korea nukes them out of existence. As the SK PM said, if he dares attack the south, his regime will be "erased from the earth"

Russia and China will NOT back NK if it declares war and nukes the US. They know better. China has NO interest in war, it's too risky to their interests with the US. And Russia, similarly, has no reason to want war. The best they can both do is advise NK and make sure Un "cuts that shit out" because they are probably the only (china moreso) ones he will listen to.

TL;DR, They won't attack the south OR the US. They know they will cease to exist if they do. And quite frankly, the rest of the world knows it too.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/alleged-north-korean-propaganda-video-americans-live-today-215322616.html

If this is real it's the funniest shit I've seen all week.

I think the only real danger from North Korea would come if Un has started to believe his own yes-men advisors and propaganda and thinks that N. Korea is or soon will be a legitimate super power.** And that harassing/threatening other countries with a nuke like it was a turd on a stick will solve all of their problems.

**You would think since the guy was educated in the West he'd have more perspective than this, but that was a long time ago so who knows.
