But if it were to somehow happen I say bring it on and also laugh to no end!!!

hohoho The Mayan writings never said the world will end on this date, they just said this date marks the end of their long-count calender & the start of a new age. Blame 20th-century sensationalist media/fear mongerors for spreading disinformation about the world blowing up. The Mayans were smarter than any of us anyway.

I've always known deep down that the world simply wouldn't end just like that. It doesn't makes sense for starters but then again that's what the whole Pauline christian Apocalypse is for ya; Nonsense. The Mayan calendar had already ended a total of five times in the past and we're still here, so thinking that some inexplicable god-made catastrophe would suddenly descend on us is totally unrealistic. And so is the whole 'Rapture' thing too. It's just another terror tactic to get more followers to flock to the Vatican and the many other christian sects. I for one do not believe in the existence of a Hell since hell is already here on earth; War, famine, death, pestilence, suffering, etc. And also the idea that only a select few will be allowed into heaven while the rest won't is nothing more then political religious favoritism that has absolutely no place in our modern society (Besides Hell is the name of the Norse goddess of the frozen wastes of the underworld and it's spelt 'Hel' not Hell). Again, God does not pick favorites. We are all loved by him/her unconditionally. ALL of us. Jesus taught us this. Otherwise those he doesn't love (which is impossible) would not have been created in the first place because god is all-knowing. Anyways, the Mayan calender has ended. Now is the time to see a new world take form and to see where we go from here. And here's hoping that all those doomsday preachers will finally shut the f**k up.

Yeah they could be from Belize or Guatemala or any one of those other countries.  Geography, people!  That's like me calling Freddy a SaudiArabian just because Saudi Arabia's the biggest country near him. :P :P :P

Yeah well, most folks from the USA think the only thing more to the South of Mexico is a desert wasteland and its only residents are Saddam Hussein ("the REAL one") and Robert Rodriguez  ;D

Maybe the world did end and I just haven't left my apartment yet to notice it. We'll see tomorrow when I go to do my laundry, buy cat food, and then finish my Christmas shopping.

Coincidentally, today, which is officially the end of the world because I live in the Americas, my alarm clock never went off this morning. I just double checked it. It was indeed set and the volume was loud enough. I think my phone was playing jokes on me.

Somewhat correct. They Mayans did offer sacrifice but it was only the women and it was a single individual who was chosen. The chosen woman would be taken up to the top of the sacred mountain where the Mayans believed the Gods dwelt there-in. The woman would be left there to die aka be the sacrifice. It is the Aztecs that did all the murdering in the thousands before and during the Spanish invasion. And while the Mayans had the calender that predicted the end of the current cycle and the beginning of the new one which were are now in, the Aztecs had a sacrificial calender which they used to keep track of the times of blood offerings to their gods.

I got up early and left to do two loads of laundry at the laundromat this morning.

They were closed.

For a whole fucking week they've been closed.

The world may as well have ended. I had to walk another 8 blocks to a coin-op laundromat that cost me $1.50 more and my clothes weren't even dry AND I forgot to put my coats in the wash, so my coats still stink.

Fucking Mayans. I wish they'd just piss off and die.
