Turn-based RPG's definitely have their place for me. There are times when I want to button-mash, in a Diablo/action style, and there are times when I feel like a more laid-back evening, just making simply menu selections and taking part in an engaging story that doesn't require too much exertion. J-RPGs fill that niche nicely for me.

Because of the turn-based nature, they can be perhaps a bit less difficult as a "weak-point", though I recently had that stereotype challenged with FF IV complete...that one really tried to mess with us FF IV diehards by taking advantage of our nostalgia, that's for sure....

I much prefer the turn-based JRPGs myself. It's kinda like playing chess as it has that type of strategical thinking involved. You can't do that in a hack & slash game which is where the FF series is sadly going. I do enjoy a good hack & slash like Diablo III but I agree with Jazz Paladin Productions in that sometime I need a relaxing evening with a turn-based game.
