Castlevania Reawakening Rumors

Seems like there’s a 4chan rumor about a new PS4/Xbox One/PC game, which would be a remake of the original Castlevania, with Simon Belmont as protagonist.  Voice acted by the same people that were in the Netflix Castlevania, which I’m guessing could only include Dracula (unless maybe Simon’s somehow in season 3).

It better be a 'proper remake' and not any of the Lords of Shadow nonsense they tried to pass off as Castlevania.

Honestly, even if this is true, Konami still has a lot to answer for before I even consider giving them the time of day.
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

You are now reading this in Robert Belgrade's voice.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

Does not seem legit.  And I've lived through quite a lot of these "leaks" through the years.  I mean Jesus, I remember the supposed 3D Symphony of the Night remake for Dreamcast...  You kind of develop a sense for these things.

Dracula was not always a monster. He was once a man named Mathias Cronqvist. A flawed, conflicted, genius of a man. How did the educated, aristocratic, crusader who piously served the church become a vampire, and eventually the Dark Lord himself, the opposing force to God? From a very young age terrors and tragedy shaped the man into the king of all evil. This is his story.

I think people give /v/ some weight ever since they leaked Bloodborne years ago. I believe that was the same place that leaked who was making Bloodstained before it was announced, including posting the "Ritual of the Night" subtitle it had.

That said, we've had a long-running rumor Konami was making an all new Castlevania game and a collection was being made alongside it. If I recall however, the rumor said it was a Switch game, the one platform not named in this apparent leak.

With the Castlevania show and the amount of love they got in Smash, they should do a new Castlevania. I mean like any leak on the internet it's taken with a grain of salt, but I welcome a new Castlevania.

They also leaked RDR2, FF7R, and Death Stranding (As well as the game being about building bridges across a disconnected US) PC releases as early as e3 last year.
When there's no catering to hype, usually it's true.

Don't do that. Don't give me hope.

File my feelings under this category.
I'm tired of hoping and chasing after shadows.

Honestly, the Netflix series and the Castlevania additions to Smash were more than I could have ever hoped to get, but they also carry a strong feeling of the end of the line. Maybe that's just my harshly trained pessimism talking though.

How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Well, way things go nowadays, worst case scenario we'll have some kind of retro resurgence in a decade or two.

Well at least that'll be fun if we can shake the world loose of the Dumbest Timeline we're currently living through.
