I assume there's nothing against using multiple song melodies?
-
I wouldn't think there would be.
Either way this one sounds really interesting. This may be a tough one.
-
Done: Proof of Blood (https://chernabogue.bandcamp.com/track/proof-of-love) & Requiem for the Nameless Victims (https://chernabogue.bandcamp.com/track/together-at-the-end-of-the-day)
J/K, they are old remixes I did. :D This theme is interesting, I need to try to find a good source. :)
-
@Drac9: Go for it! It's a free for all, after all~♪
I'm actually excited for this. hehehe.
-
By romantic, what kind of genre are we aiming at? I started something but it sounds rather sad (instead of "romantic").
-
The genre where the music will make you want to smoosh various parts of your body against various parts of someone else's body.

Haha, well I should stop doing my "depression remix" and start another project lol
-
Won't have any more time this month to do music, so here are my entries. Two different types of moods, depending on how well went your Valentine's Day. :)
- Proof of Blues (http://www.mediafire.com/listen/9a3hzlz357tyxso/Chernabogue_-_Proof_of_Blues.mp3): a happy/bluesy version of "proof of blood" from Circle of the Moon
- Sea of Tears (http://www.mediafire.com/listen/y2140gsld0uoavt/Chernabogue_-_Sea_of_Tears.mp3): a nostlagic/sad take on "Wandering the Crystal Blue" from Order of Ecclesia
Please enjoy. :)

"Sea of Tears" totally would belong in a Lords of Shadow game, my goodness (take that as a compliment).
There's a little hint of "Ghostly Theatre" in there just before the piano riff at the end, since you have gone full Waltz.
-
Hot damn, Chern, excellent work.
-
Thanks, guys. If only one track is to be taken in consideration for votes, it'll be "Sea of Tears". LoS had such a big influence on my recent orchestra work.
-
@Chern: 2 tracks are fine. Let the voters decide. hehehe.
If in any case both tracks win, then your medal would be the higher ranking one.
-
Goddamn and confound my work schedule as of late.
ONE DAY LEFT D9 YOU CAN DO THIS

Go for it, man, it'd be a shame not to have at least 2 participants. :)
-
D9: The deadline is 4 days from now. You can do it!!!!
-
Dracula9, I hope you've got some last minute stuff to show us! :)
-
Last day!
Any more entries?
-
I usually try to wait until the end of each music contest before coming to the thread and reading/listening -- hear every entry at once I guess.
Anyway, while you're the only entrant so far Chern, I just gotta say your entries are great! I especially enjoyed Sea of Tears...amazing! This could totally be in a CV game somewhere! If it were, this track is one I'd be saying, "I gotta get it!"

Thank you, much appreciated. It seems "Sea of Tears" gets all the attention ^^

I knew work would keep me occupied. :P
Well, I'd have liked to have done more with this, but I started on it two hours ago and don't have the time to keep going with it. But for only cranking it out in two hours, I'm pleased with it.

Alrighty then, poll's up. Time to vote.
-
While Chernabogue's Sea of Tears is really excellent, I have to give it to Dracula 9 again this month. I think he hit "romantic" square on here. It sounded like a romantic scene from a movie. I think Sea of Tears, while fantastic in it's own right, doesn't hit on the contest theme.
-
What song D9's entry is based on?
-
I think I heard some An Empty Tome.
-
The Tragic Prince, Guardian, and Empty Tome/Dusk's Holy Mark.
Ya know, Dusk's Tragic Guardian?
-

I think they both hit the mark, but in different ways. To me, D9's sounds "in love" romantic. I too can imagine a movie scene with such a track. However, I hear a sad or tragic romance in Chern's track -- maybe reminiscing good times with a loved one who left or passed away? -- and potentially a happy change or end with the end of the track. Both are great though!
-
I LOVED "Sea of Tears". Great job Chern.
It just sounds so damn sad.
-
The winner for FEB is Chern and D9 gets second place!
Congratulations!!!
おめでとうございます!

Thanks! Should I propose a new theme right away or wait for propositions from other members?
-
I'd prefer the former. I think you would provide a very good challenge. :)
Good show, Chern.
-
Please propose a theme Chern.

I actually enjoyed your remix too, nice job. You're improving with each contest, D9. :)

Okay, so March's theme will be: Forest Month (because Spring is coming, brace yourself)
Rules:
- remix one Castlevania track played during a forest stage (or in a similar vegetal environment)
- no genre restriction, no length restriction
- only ONE track should be remixed, meaning no medleys/mash-ups/etc.
A few suggestions to get a better idea: Forest of Monsters (SC4), Forest of Jigramunt (CoD), Maze Garden (C64), Platinum Moonlight (DoS), The Hidden Curse (PoR), Emerald Mist (OoE), Hunting Path (LoS), etc.
-
*resubmits Forest of Monsters song from the boss theme contest*
I am seriously so on board with this theme it's not even funny.
-
Chern if you don't do Forest of Monsters or Emerald Mist (or both) I will be very upset forever.
-
Count me in for mad forest of monsters from cv3 ;D

Any genre in mind? ;)
-
Something makes me want to say a jazzy Emerald Mist.
Forest of Monsters? Call me boring but I'd like to see that one played fairly straight. Just, you know, with all the nice libraries you use for your Lords of Shadow stuff.
-
Tough choice. I think I'll go with FoM from SC4. Or maybe Platinum Moonlight -- love this source.
On other news, "Sea of Tears (https://soundcloud.com/chernabogue/sea-of-tears)" is up on my SoundCloud ;)
