Last present for night!

Here is a sample of some more music from LC2!

https://youtu.be/Hb--m3I0-OM

Happy birthday Castlevania!

30 years! It's hard to believe. But I still remember the first time I laid eyes on your box as it rested just at my 5 year old eye level in that old video store. I was drawn in by that portrait of Dracula fixed in the sky above the castle.

Here I am 32 spending every day thinking about Castlevania still!

CV has been a part of my life for most of those 30 years.

Whether it's by konami or not. There are still new Castlevania adventures and experiences for us in store!

Cheers to 30 years!

Interesting cover art. However Alucard looks like a child then a man.

Perhaps, but that "eternal youth" aspect can be represented multiple ways. I will, though, have to disagree with you on that note--he looks less like a child and more like something out of the Uncanny Valley. Which, given what he is, works rather well IMO. Just human enough to get by, and just inhuman enough to be just subtly unnerving.

Also, I don't want to necropost the old thread just for this, but I feel compelled to share this information:

Finally getting close to beating the first one on hardmode and oh my god I have never known such rage  :P

Well, a "V" that appears like a "b" to konami, is a good thing :)

Anyway, MAN!! that Torture chamber's remix is... Monstruous... :o i've never listened a remix so strong like this.

Thank you!

These were some of the first tracks I made for the game. It feels good to finally share them!
Torture Chamber has always been a favorite of mine!

I wish I could share more with you guys!

You'll have to wait now until the final trailer for the game.

About Alucard. Mig and I have discussed this already and Alucard in the main game will remain as we intended him to be, as a non playable character.

Understand that Efrain has a unique path that he follows in the game. His journey is not the same as Alucards. Simply swapping Efrain out with Alucard just for the sake of fan service would diminish the quality of the journey Mig has laid out specifically for Efrain. Alucard has a special place in that journey, but their roles cannot simply be swapped.

Still, we wanted to give players a chance to play with him again in a context that can make sense. Boss rush mode is the perfect medium for this.

I hope you all understand and can be excited about playing as Alucard in boss rush mode!

So I am assuming that there may be a sequel with Alucard as the protagonist or some type of DLC content in the future?

Also, excellent work all around on this. I would love to know the backstory on how you are able to contact all these professionals and maybe some behind the scenes regarding the production of things after the game is released.

Why are you so secretive Mig? lol

How is your brother's game project coming along?

This looks better than anything Konami has put out since Adventure Rebirth.

Casting update!

We have cast a voice actress for the role of Medusa!

Her name is Cassandra Wladyslava!

You can hear Cassandra as Kela De Thaym in Warframe on the PS4! Cassandra has done a lot of work in other games and projects and we're happy to have her in LC2! She is also a Castlevania fan!

Here is Cassandra as Kela.

More casting announcements to come as LC2 continues to grow!

Some problems I can see through currently available information & assets:
1. Jump height is not able to adjust (I, personally still like the VERY short hops+swing like what GBA/DS CVs can do)
2. Sword swings seems to have very limited range when crouching; It will be pain to deal with ground enemies (Flea men, etc) in first few area
Add a move to be able to diagonal swing sword, or widen sword's range when crouching will be OK
3. For shops I'm afraid the price of some specific items would start way too high, and it's a problem to just farm through same minor enemies over and over again without a convenient point to collect money in a short time
4. I'm afraid that "Aura Blast" system needs further modification; The charge system will cause several moves harder to pull of (charge time is a bit longer than it should be, I think)
Some of my Chinese friends said that it's not quite good (Mainly to the whole charge system itself)
5. Is it possible to modify key mapping when keyboard-only? The current situation is still a little bit unclear which is not a very good thing

I didn't realize it but we got a write up on kotaku!

http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2016/08/03/the-sequel-to-a-fan-made-castlevania-spinoff-looks-like-a-lost-game-from-the-series

I would also like to announce the addition of RaeLynn Jay to the cast, and Sam Cope (Dracula9)!

@Aceearly1993 fear not my friend. I've been playing the game a lot. There are no such issues. Everything is balanced and most importantly, very fun and addictive. The amount of time spent collecting gold is just right. And the nature of the game makes revisiting areas to acquire more gold fresh and less repetitive than a metriodvania has ever been.

Remember that Efrain gains abilities and weapons. You've seen only a small piece of content from the trailers. The pacing and balance of the game is something that Mig takes extremely serious.

Mig has asked me to apologize to you all for his absence on this forum. He has a laser focus and has little time for questions.

OK but I'm just a bit too curious about it. I'm more sensitive than most people (at least on the forum) on the balance part. And my friends had sharp topics with me about the questions in the forum last night.
Anyway, still looking forward to any interesting information from yours.

It's all good!

Just try to keep in mind that the games mechanics are balanced within the context of the game. The charge system of the aura blast is a simple and very funny mechanic. It's extremely satisfying and more dynamic than item crashes.

Your friends have nothing to base their concern on because they would have to play the game to experience how Efrains abilities are balanced with the enemies and obstacles he faces. The trailer doesn't show you enough to give you a sense of that.  Mig has been making games for 20 years and his experience in balancing mechanics is on a high level. The balance and pacing of difficulty in the game are a huge strength and it comes from Migs amazing amount of experience and careful planning.

LC2 oozes CV feeling and sentiment, but at that same time it has a unique feel and it's own identity and play style.

I'm excited that we will be able to share it with you all soon!

The amount of hours and work we've put into this has been insane!
