Konami's known about LC2 for a long time. Umbra also, in all likelihood.*

Whether or not anything comes of it remains to be seen.

*Edited for clarity.

Maybe through international recognition Konami will get the memo and learn from this?  :-\

True that Konami has known of LC2 for a year now.

LC2's reception has exceeded our expectations for sure!

If Konami takes anything away from that at all I hope it will be that Castlevania can always stand on its roots as a 2D platformer adventure. We don't need high budget large scale 3D games to be happy as a fanbase. All we need is a game that respects CV's history and has heart.

Quite true.

If anything, I think it speaks volumes of their (and yes, I'm fully aware I will likely get shit for saying this) integrity. You've got companies like Ninty killing projects a day after they go up, and here's LC2 making international headlines in its first month.

They might not care enough to release new content of merit, but they seem to care enough to allow the fans to do it in their stead.

Think that says enough, really.

Sorry to pivot this topic to Umbra specifically, but how do you know Konami is aware of it? I know you're deeply involved in that project, so I am curious to know how you know this. :P

The mastermind behind the "Umbra of Sorrow" project. But not the only one.

Not entirely a "know" as much as a "highly probable inference."

-Umbra's the game that never was that they've known the fans have wanted for years.
-They knew of LC2, and Mario and I were part of LC2, and the threads for each are only a few spaces apart in the subforum.
-IGA and crew were well aware of the Dungeon (and Chapel) enough for Bloodstained's marketing campaign, so why wouldn't Konami be also?
-Umbra gets named-dropped in a CV article on a very well-established gaming news/article site (source).

Should kind of go without saying they are in all likelihood aware.

I think this is the most well known global Castlevania forum on the internet, of course, Konami can easily come here.
Need I remind you that this forum got a translator from Konami to join for help in translating that crab thing in OoE... that Dave Cox was a member here...
I can assure everyone that IGA knows this forum. I talked to him. :)

Something strange happened after my second playthrough of the game. Very close before finishing the game, I entered the Hall of Seasons via Teleport, then went into the adjacent room with the von Viltheim Helmet. Suddenly, the victory jingle played and a MAX Health Up dropped down. This did not happen in my first playthrough, despite 100 % completion. Was it a glitch not happening the first time, or was the second time the glitch and that's not supposed to happen?

I'm pretty sure 100% refers strictly to map coverage--I have a 100% file but never got the blue rose relic.

Could be a false event flag. I've had Alucard dialogue trigger in an area he's not even in and then have the item he gives me respawn in the proper room (despite having it already).

That is good to know, so just a false flag. Thanks for clearing that up. As for the 100 % completion, I know it just means the map, but I meant like having found every enemy, every droppable item and such. Should have been more clear about that, my bad.

I have heard that somehow, the Four Seasons Hall is supposed to stop switching to Winter at some point or something?
Also, is it true that an update is planned in which Alucard will be playable for Boss Rush?

After boss (nightmare plant) beaten, the season change system in Four Seasons Hall would be stopped - permanently locked in a specific season that skeletons will come out.

P.S: Playlist done! It takes quite a long time to deal with tracks...

I liked this a lot pretty good ideas, the side quests, the climate and so on. I hope mig would work for Konami someday as director, producer or whatever you think he fits, I wonder if mig would be willing to do that or he prefers fan made games only.
