Title: Close call!
Post by: X on July 30, 2016, 09:20:44 PM
Earlier today my sister was involved in a vehicle collision. Her van was T-boned by another vehicle that was being driven by a woman whom was apparently 'high as a kite'. My sister also had her two daughters and her friend's kid in the van as well. Thankfully nobody was hurt. Just shaken up. But here's the funny part (which is also stupid), is that the driver was removing the license plate off of her car, but was caught since first response and the police we're already arriving on the scene.

Thank goodness everyone is safe! Did the kids get counseling? I'm sure there's some sort of psychological trauma.
Well, you've mentioned that the woman was high. That state of mind makes people do stupid things.

This'll no-doubt be happening. My Nieces will have the support of their family because that's the way we are. And the other child, the support of his. But I think my step brother might need it too since he just lost his grandmother, and now to have this happen, could have ended up being a double-wammy for him. Nobody needs that kind of stress. My mom was also a in a bit of a tissy but was relieved after they were fine.

This is terrible. I really hope everyone's all right - I know people who've been far less lucky in these situations.

I wish everyone a speedy recovery, in every sense of the word.

That's so fortunate and thank God no one was hurt.

If she was actually high I'd sue her to the fucking bone, shit is not cool and she could've ended up with a quadruple manslaughter charge.

Thanks everyone! My sister works for a law firm and her group IS doing the prosecuting, lol. All legal and above.

That's poetic justice if I've ever seen it :)

I think the guy who hit a parked cop car and admitted it was because of playing Pokemon GO has a better chance of getting off free.

Thank God your ok X. What's with all the car accident's lately, I was just in one myself about a week ago. Be sure you mention injuries too. Things happen to flare up later on down the line, especially since kids were involved.

Well, I wasn't there. Just my sister, her kids and another kid she was looking after. They're fine though shaken up. The Van she was driving is a complete write-off. But it did its job of protecting her and the others. In fact the side of the van that was hit was where the kids were. They were very lucky, and most other families can't say the same.
