Speaking of your sprites, I think the way you're placing highlights is doing more bad than good. They seem to be specks following a vague lightsource, it just makes them seems as noise rather than building form. I think rather than spreading them out just for flavor, you should have broader highlights with the intent of accentuating form and folds. Also, you have a random dark blue pixel on his coat that's used nowhere else.

jdsfgdfgdfh this is pretty terrible but

That blue pixel used nowhere else is probably a spot I missed when recoloring his coat. >.< For the most part, on the coat and pants, that's all just recolors from the original outfit. But from what I can see, your edit of my edit looks... pretty cool.

So in other words you're just not a big fan of Serio's sprites. XD
Have you seen the latest updates on them? They look pretty damn nice

Critique needed!

What you have here is sprites from all four angles of by RPG titled "Castlevania: The Greatest Five". I need critiques on them.

If there are any extra pixels of blue on Richter that shouldn't be there, let me know. I recently recolored his outfit by hand.

They are good, but doesn't Leon and Simon look a little pale? Can't you make them a little more like Trevor or Juste?

Yeah, but pointers doesn't necessarily mean you did it as good as it could be.
never said otherwise.

I used the CV2 color palette for Simon, and Uzo's palette for Jorge's Leon. I'm trying to find someway to fix up the palettes for them so they don't look as pale. I have to stick with 3 colors, since RPGMaker doesn't support that layering concept without some extensive coding. ^^

Woot. Double post again just cuz I got more to show off. ^^ Hope that's okay.

TA-DAAAAAAA
It's a Metroidvania sprite sheet for classic Simon. It was part of a sprite project I was making a while back, titled "Badass Castlevania", making larger sprite sheets for characters in the NES/GB age, as well as redesigning enemies and such. There are 6 volumes, one for each game on the NES and GB/GBC. And each volume contains a sprite set for various characters/enemies.

I planned to do this a while back, and even started up the Simon sheet (that being only his CV1 and HD poses). But now I'm actually working on it simultaneously to my game (Greatest Five), and some of these moves will actually be included in there. ^^

I planned more moves for Simon, but I also remembered his CV2 incarnation would need more moves. So CV1 Simon's a basic Metroidvania Belmont.

This took a long time to make. It's free for anyone to use, but please give me a line of credit. ^^

A long time ago I helped Darkmoon with his webcomic, "Castlevania RPG".

Castlevania RPG
Here are some sprites from CV that I helped do for his comic.  They are done in Chrono Trigger style.
These are only the CV ones (I helped him do original characters as well):

Nathan Graves:

Count Dracula:

Count Orlox:

Death:

Frankenstein's Monster (Frankie):

Shaft:

(the 2nd, 5th, and last frame aren't mine)

Actrise:

Carmilla:

(The last two frames aren't mine)

Elizabeth Bartley:

Medusa:

Succubus:

(version with and without clothes)

Richter Belmont:

(the menu and subweapons are not mine, and neither are the last three animation frames)

Cornell:

Alucard:

(CV3, Legends, SotN, AoS)

Christopher Belmont:

Joachim Armster:

Juste Belmont:

Maria Renard:

Reinhardt Schneider and Rosa:

Renon:

Simon Belmont (CV4):

Soma Cruz:

Sonia Belmont:

Sypha Belnades:

Trevor Belmont:

...plus many others (though the others are not CV characters).
Go check out CVRPG.com.  It's been running for years now.  Quite humorous.

The comic's humor makes 'em really pop.
Especially the "The Random Adventures of Frankie and Mummy" (which uses a Link to the Past Mummy as Mummy, haha):

OR
you could just say nothing and not be an ass.
(I picked one out at random that would have only CV characters in it)
