If you haven't heard of Dave Rapoza, let today be as good a day as any to hear of him for the first time, then. This guy's artistic skills are beast! Check out his site. Dig through all his artwork.

And check out this CV-inspired sprite he drew up just for shits and giggles.

It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

Aw, I wanted to link to a certain post on his blog. :(

His blogs take up all my virtual memory  :-\

His old WordPress blog: http://daverapoza.wordpress.com/
His new Blogger blog: http://daverapoza.blogspot.com/
His DeviantArt page: http://davidrapozaart.deviantart.com/gallery/

On the Blogger blog, I think it's about page 3, maybe page 5, he decided to try his hand at spriting using Castlevania as a reference.

Are you referring to this: http://daverapoza.blogspot.com/2010/11/trying-new-stuff.html

It looks good for something WIP! I would love to see a hi-res castlevania!

His artistic interpretation of TMNT is quite stunning! I also liked the HE-Man villains too!

Yeah it was his Trying New Stuff thread. For some reason I got a bad link out of it.

It was the TMNT stuff that led me to him. If you look through all his work, look at his training and stuff. Like, look at the Africans he drew. They freaking look like photographs!

Considering he drew his Castlevania inspired character sprite from scratch, that is amazing!

He's doing his like the other game companies would handle their high-res sprites: Sketch, pixelate, cleanup, color and done. I had always wondered how they did high-res spriting until I crossed a website that showed me how to do it. It was quite interesting to say the least.
