Title: WALLACHIA: REIGN OF DRACULA
Post by: Migami Games on February 04, 2018, 08:38:44 AM
Hello everyone!

We are pleased to officially announce Wallachia Reign of Dracula here on the Castlevania Dungeon!

Wallachia Reign of Dracula is an original game made by Mig Perez and Jeffrey Montoya (the creators of Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles 2). It is a linear action/shooter game based around the history of Vlad the Impaler. The game is inspired by classic games like Castlevania and Contra but also has unique features such as the ability to call on allies for support.

The story has been written by Jeffrey Montoya, Alan C. Baird, and Mig Perez. Alan is an author and screen play writer and acted as a guest writer for us. He has written a screen play about Dracula called Vlad the Impaler: Son of Dracul.

The graphics and programming are being created by Mig Perez and the soundtrack is being composed by Jeffrey Montoya. The logo, along with promotional artwork that has been posted on our social media has been created by Nell Fallcard. We are also working once again with contributors who helped us with different things for Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles 2. We will announce who they are and what they are helping with on this thread in the future.

We are also bringing back much of the voice acting talent from Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles 2! Kira Buckland is voicing our main character, Elcin Floarea and Robert Belgrade will be voicing Dracula's brother, Radu Cel Frumos.

This will be our first salable game, and we hope to release it before the end of 2018. We appreciate all of the support we were given with our last project and we look forward to sharing more about Wallachia Reign of Dracula with you all!

The game looks good!

As for the gameplay I am sceptical :( I just don't know if Contra and Castlevania could be merged together.

I hope I am wrong!

Good luck!

I hope it features graveyard or eerie levels, Mig is a genius for these kind of environments.

Looks interesting.

Seems difficult to discern between what's background and forerground, especially in the village area.

Let me guess this game is a prequel to Castlevania?

Also to be honest I don't think I really like the main character's outfit, too sexualized for my tastes.

If I'm correct in my assumption, this game has nothing to do with Castlevania. It's its own thing. As for armour preferences I don't see anything wrong with it. The game is a work of fiction therefore certain liberties can be taken if the designers want to. Besides there are other games out there that have women fighters with way more exposure happening then what we see in the screens above.

I'm interested in seeing what the gameplay will look like, as its described as a combination of Contra and Castlevania. I hope there's a gameplay video coming soon!

Nah no connection. It has Vlad Tepes in it, but that's about it.

Hello again everyone!

Thank you for the comments.

Just to be clear again, Wallachia Reign of Dracula is an original game, and has nothing to do with Castlevania. It's understandable that some may be confused by that, as it is a game with Dracula in the title being made by the same people who made Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles 2. But we want to be very clear about what this game is. There is absolutely no correlation between WROD and CV. And with that fact in mind, we hope that players will be open minded to try something that will look, play, and sound different from our last game. The freedom to create something fresh and new, with no baggage attached to it is very exciting and fun for us.  :)

With that, we would like to share these character profile cards that feature the artwork of Nell Fallcard. By reading these cards you may gather more of the story of Wallachia Reign of Dracula!

Thank you! We look forward to sharing more with you all in the future!

Actually the main character was way more sexualised on earlier art. They covered her chest because it was just too much. At least for me. Now it is ok.

Looks neat & promising.
A question: What could the action system be like this time? In the screenshots it seems the space of possible life upgrade is a bit shorter.

Thanks! Those questions will be answered when we release a video of the game. But you can expect many big differences from our last game.

Another character we'd like to share who doesn't have a profile card at this point is Silviu the wolf. You can see Silviu standing behind Elcin in this portrait also by Nell Fallcard.

Think of Silviu as Elcin's gaurdian.

Are you guys going to put this on Steam or anything? Since it's not directly related to Castlevania like the Lecarde Chronicles, it seems to me like you could make some money off this :o

I guess their best bet is Steam but I wouldn't mind if they sell physical copies like with Lecarde Chronicles 2 :)

Thank you! Yes, Steam is the main plan at this time.

But we are also looking into other platforms as possibilities and considering the possibility of a kickstarter to help make that happen. But none of that is for sure yet... Stay tuned!

"This will be our first salable game, and we hope to release it before the end of 2018."

Physical copies are actually less likely this time. To be clear, the physical copies of Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles 2 were never for sale and we never made a cent from anything having to do with that game. Our plan from the start was always for LC2 to be free, and that was also a condition for us from Konami to release it.

The physical copies were made as gifts for contributors and so we could give some away.

Physical copies for Wallachia Reign of Dracula would likely only happen if we do in fact decide to go the route of crowd funding. But again, that’s not something we’ve decided on at this time.

A little disappointed that the game isn't open world like lecarde chronicles 2 (the best Sotn spiritual successor I've ever played) but hey it's gonna be good anyways. And your Mozart composer is back which is great news. Music in castlevania has always been important and TLC2 had a terrific OST. Can't wait to play this one.

By the way....do you guys still have TLC2 copies lying around forgotten by any chance? C'est pour une bonne cause.

Hello everyone!

Dropping in today to announce to you all that our friend and fellow-dungeon member, ThePlotTwist (Mario Santos) is a contributor to Wallachia Reign of Dracula!

He is creating beautiful pixel art for the text box portraits of the characters in the game. These are the images that will appear as a character is speaking within the game itself (not cutscenes).

Mario is a good friend. Most of you know him for his project Castlevania Umbra of Sorrow, but he was helpful to us during development of Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles 2 as well. He created the logo for the game and was also a translator. We're very happy to have him creating some artwork for Wallachia Reign of Dracula!

Have a look at his portrait of Silviu the wolf! And yes, Silviu communicates with custom-made wolf emojis!

Understandable that people might want another open world game after LC2, but we wanted to do something more refined and polished this time and doing a more simple action based game is a good way to do that in making the jump to an original salable game.

We’re still essentially a 2 man crew so we’re trying to put out the most refined best game we can with the small team and limited resources we have.

Thanks for the comment on the music! To tell you guys a little about the new ost for Wallachia I’m currently working hard on. Expect a lot more guitar and performance based instruments this time. I chose to do mostly programming for LC2 but Wallachia will blend live instruments with the programming. It’s coming along very nice and I can’t wait to share it!

We would like to give you all another Wallachia Reign of Dracula casting update!

The role of Prince Vlad Dracula will be played by Douglas Rye!

We worked with Douglas in Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles 2 with him as the main villain. But this time we are very happy to have him playing Dracula.

As some of you may know, Douglas has also played the role of Dracula in Castlevania Curse of Darkness, and Castlevania Portrait of Ruin. Have a listen to Douglas as Dracula.

I'm looking forward to it. My love for castlevania is greatly associated to music since 1985  ;D.The 4 part: battle of the holy, rise of the morning, dimming the holy light and violent nightmare, instantly hooked me into the game. I knew that from then on, I would be in for a treat for the rest of the game. Those four songs perfectly catch dracula's  haunted countryside in my opinion.  Beautiful, yet menacing.  Other favorites of mine are: Guernon university, la tourvelle mansion(honestly the ambiance in this one is chilling) servigny mansion and the very simple yet hypnotic outside princely rooms. Nightmare plant boss is probably the best castlevania boss song I've ever heard. It's nod to bloody tears is masterfully done.

I know this may sound funny to some but as much as I love the melodies, I find this castlevania ost (and game) "scarier" than what the official games usually display. Some themes in the castle are quite disturbing. And the game is only better because of it. You've managed to create great music AND ambiance for the different parts of the game. That is no easy task as usually we see one or the other from composers, rarely both. (I hated the LOS games mainly because music was an ambiance affair only and hardly ever catchy or memorable).

So yeah...Can't wait for the next game lol. Sorry if my English is sometimes funny. It is not my first language. Keep up the good work man and all the rest of the team of course. LC2 was BIG step up from LC and to me is as great and even better than some of konami's best. I'm even curious as to how I will appreciate bloodstained after having played LC2. Ok enough with the wall of text  ;D peace dudes.

An article was posted on Siliconera about Wallachia! Check it out!

Also, we’ve been listening to feedback and making some tweaks with the game. For example, Elcin’s running speed and animations are being revised, and effort sounds are being rolled back a little. Feedback we received is also being kept in mind going forward with the new parts of the game.

Thank you to everyone who has shown us support!

Cutscenes for Wallachia Reign of Dracula are being illustrated by Junki Sakuraba and feature voice acting from Kira Buckland, Robert Belgrade, and the rest of our talented cast! We will share more of the game when the official trailer is released!

Development of the game is going strong. We appreciate your support and feedback! There will be more news to come soon. Here is a look at how the cutscenes will appear. They are being presented in a graphic novel fashion but with voice acting and music, of course.

Thank you!

We're happy you guys like it!

And yes, Plot is an amazingly talented artist. Elcin looks great in motion! We hope to share a new trailer soon.

Also, to give you guys an idea of where the game is at. All of the levels are complete. Mig is wrapping up the final battles.

We'll have months of other assets catching up, testing, and features being added. But we want you all to know it's far along and we're getting closer to the home stretch!

Level 2 is put together really well, it has more interesting traps/enemies/mechanics than the first level. I also liked the boss design of level 2 more. It feels like you guys developed a more refined level design style since the old demo. Interested to see how the rest of the levels play out.

Release dates? Are they launching on both platforms simultaneously?

The game is good. I have one complaint though.
A bit too much unnecessary chatting and history.
The game has a fast-paced arcade gameplay and the cutscenes feel very out of place (but they're skippable so it's not that big a deal)
Title: Re: WALLACHIA REIGN OF DRACULA
Post by: Migami Games on July 27, 2019, 11:08:16 AM
Thanks for playing guys! We super appreciate any and all feedback/bug reports.

The game will come to steam first, followed by switch. The levels grow more ominous as you approach Prince Dracula.

We spent a lot of time cutting back the story and made sure to make it all skippable as this is an action shooter. At the same time we are introducing a new IP and world around Dracula so we wanted to give the characters more depth.

But we had that same concern throughout the development of the game. I can say that the opening cutscene is by far the longest. And there are only 2 more, a middle and ending. We hope when the game comes out you enjoy them and want to see what happens to these characters next!

Again, thank you all for playing and supporting us!

We advise playing on hard! And if you want a real challenge try level 2 using only your sword.

It would be nice if you improved the animations of the main character a bit, adding more frames. They look rough, similar to old genesis games.
Also her sword atack is awkward and not very easy to use. It would be better if it was horizontal and a little larger, like Strider/Runsaber

And here's a bug report: it doesn't detect the triggers of the Xbox One Controller.
Title: Re: WALLACHIA REIGN OF DRACULA
Post by: Migami Games on July 27, 2019, 12:04:56 PM
Thanks!

We have become aware of the Xbox trigger bug and we are looking into it.

Her sword attack motion covers a specific zone because it's a defensive move as well as offensive.

We'll keep doing what we can to polish the look!

Thanks!

I just played through the demo, seems like you have a solid foundation here to build off of.

As far as the gameplay is concerned it reminded me of Contra, I didn't find any noticeable bugs and overall it felt pretty good to play.
One thing I'd suggest looking into is the custom controls implementation and UI. It wasn't terribly difficult to figure out but I think it could be presented in an easier to understand way. In addition, I noticed that the custom controls doesn't seem to have any sort of error checking present, so you are able to bind a single button to multiple commands.

Besides that, good job!

I have mixed feelings about this new game because lecarde chronicles 2 is my favorite castlevania game since sotn (better than all the official Castlevania stuff that came out after 97). The level design is amazing in LC2 and once inside the castle, that's where the fun really kicks in. Having said that, it will be hard for this new game to top LC2 because I expect a lot. This new game is straightforward is it? I mean, you beat level 1 then go to level 2 etc..? I mean, can't wait to play it but I find that going back to a level1-level2-level3 approach after playing the open world LC2 will be a bit of a letdown for me. But that's just personal preference. I know we are in for a treat cause MIG really creates masterpieces. Oh and the music in LC2 was AMAZING! Something that's been lacking in Castlevania since they went LOTR musically for LOS. Anyways, can't wait to play this. Keep up the good work guys!

Thanks!

We understand your sentiment.

It's a thing worth addressing. Wallachia is not a game you will be able to enjoy if you are looking for an experience like LC2.

But there is a reason for that beyond the style choice of shooter. It is that LC2 was built off of the foundation of LC1.

Wallachia is an entirely new IP from the ground up. This means we spent a lot of time and energy into the conception of it and polish/stability which are being set at higher standards as it will be sold.

This game is an action packed 7 stage shooter that unfolds a new take on Dracula, and introduces the new characters that surround him.

It's a game you can beat in under an hour if you are good. It's like a classic CV or Contra game. But it's our style of that kind of game. And we've put a lot of fun unlockable content in it. But that is what the game is.

We are hoping that Wallachia can be something we can build on. It has a super fun feel to it and if we do another chapter of it, it could be a similar jump in style as LC1 was to LC2.

But we want players to understand what it is, and judge it by those standards, and not with expectations of a Metroidvania.

It wasn't possible for us to jump from LC2 right to another LC2.

But we hope you will still give Wallachia a shot! The support of the players will ensure that we get to do a Metroidvania style game again!

We hope that explains the whole thing for everyone!

Thanks guys!

That video really showed off a good arcade-styled game! Doesn't help the fact that I'm reading a book called Dracula: Prince of many Faces. I'd highly recommend this to others here as it not only goes into details about Bram Stoker's creation of the myth but also on the real life Prince.

Fun fact from the book that I never knew; Joan of Arc was executed in 1431 and Vlad III (Dracula) was born that same year. If this was a CV game that would be a seriously ill omen  :o

I want to be able to play this game but opening up the rar. file told me that the file was either incomplete from download or damaged  >:(

I'll try again and see if it works.

Hello again Mig.

May I ask what is the engine on which you are making the game? Fusion again or something else? I am asking because I want to know how are you going to port it to Switch. Did you get dev kit? Paid the licence? You are approved by Nintendo?

Hello Mig here's one minor suggestion.
We found it seems both Normal and Hard modes apply to 3 Credits, which I personally think 3 Credits are a bit tight for normal game while Easy mode instead has 9 Credits. 4 or 5  Credits in Normal would be a balanced range in between those two values.

Does the cast change mean Douglas Rye is now no longer in the voice cast?

Thank you! That is a great book! This game is of course fiction based on history, but you will find many "historic Easter eggs" peppered throughout it! The more you know of Vlad the more you will notice in the game.

Sorry about the rar file problem you're not the first to report that. We will likely post an alternate link to the demo soon so you can play it.

Clickteam will be handling the Switch port. Our publisher is handling the details. The game will be coming to Steam firstly. So more about the Switch port will follow that.

Pay no attention to the credit offerings in the demo. We've worked out a well balanced offering for each difficulty mode in the full game. We can also mention that when the game is completed on hard mode, a level select option is provided to make further trophy hunting more enjoyable. :-)

We decided to have Sam Cope play him because his voice was more fitting for our version of Dracula. He truly was perfect. Douglas played Lucifer in LC2 spot on, and we will hopefully work with him again in the future! But we can promise you all that Sam gave an incredible performance and you have a very menacing Dracula to look forward to!

We'd like you all to know that the game is basically finished. We're eliminating the last of the bugs, mastering the music, and making last minute adjustments. An official trailer will be arriving very soon!

I read through In Search of Dracula, which is by the same authors as the book you mentioned. That book definitely had an influence on my vision of Carpathian Night (formerly Wallachian Night). Would also recommend either book by those authors to Castlevania fans.

I won't rag on the game too much, but....
If you're going from one-man game creation machine to putting out full multiplatform releases, the quality and polish on your game should really reflect that. I can't just see your games from the "passion-project" lens anymore since they're becoming something bigger.

As it stands, the game still looks and feels like a 2010 flash game instead of a highly polished full release.

Robbie's an individual and not beholden to Konami so he can use his "Alucard Voice" for whatever he wants, but I asked Angel-Corlux and I was told that Migami Games got legal permission from Artplay and everything to have a Bloodstained costume :D

Finally got around to playing this test demo. I enjoyed it for the most part though the character was just a bit stiff. Not like it was a bad thing as it reminds me of those classic arcade titles. Although maybe a down-kick attack after double jumping would be a nice addition as she already seems to want to go in that direction in terms of functionality. I found the life bar to be a bit short as well as the lack of finding life refills. But it's not unreasonable for the current build. The stage 1 boss could use a bit more functionality as his current attack is very straight-forward and very easy to dodge. The second stage boss worked alright so no issues on that front. All in all this was a nice demo to play and I look forward to getting this on my Switch when it is ready  :D

That's correct. Everything was done through the proper channels. Iga and his team have been incredibly kind to us. They have had an early full game build of Wallachia for a little while now. We were also honored to learn he is a fan of the Lecarde games!

Appreciate the feedback. I suggest you play on easy if you found normal to be too difficult. We would be hesitant to make the game any easier than it already is at this point. That's sort of what the different modes are for. Elcin is already quite powerful and if we add in even more attacks, you might find the game to be too easy and over too quickly once you get better at it.

But thanks for the feedback and it will certainly be taken into account!

We greatly appreciate the support everyone! Help spread the word if you are interested in this game and would like to see it come to other consoles like PS4 or xbox one.

As was the case with Aggelos (another game from storybird) other consoles will be considered depending on demand!

But for now Steam and Switch are confirmed.

So I heard that Dracula in this game is human, I guess it's before he turned into a Vampire or I kinda predict the Elcin Floarea is going to kill him at the end which he'll raise as a Vampire afterwords? Since I know for sure that the real life Vlad Tepes was killed in battle and of course in the original book by Bram Stoker Dracula got his vampirism from black magic and alchemy at the scholomance which I wonder if the scholomance is going to be referenced in this game?

Of course this game could be a nice pretext of a Castlevania reboot ditching IGA's story and going with the original novel by Bram Stoker mixed with real history.

It's actually not confirmed that Dracula was killed in battle. There are also writings that he was killed by an assassin who was disguised as a servant. It's also not confirmed that he was a vampire or not.

Make no assumptions about what we are doing with him as he is a figure shrouded in mystery. And mystery breeds creativity. ????

We haven't gotten a release date yet for the Switch but we will announce it as soon as we get the word.

Thanks for posting and don't hesitate to get it on Steam if you are interested to play!

We realize there isn't as much interest here for an arcade shooter game as there is in Metroidvanias. So we really appreciate each and every person who gives us their support with this project!

We really hope we get to continue making games in the future!

Thank you

After a week of listening to player feedback we now have rolled out update 3-08-20 with the following changes listed below.

Unlimited continues in all difficulty modes
-Ability to cancel the sword attack or striking while changing direction
-Max HP +1containers give a bonus of +2 current HP
-Items last longer before disappearing
-An icon shows that you need a key when you try to open a chest without having one.

Concerning the PAUSE on controllers. Many things have been tried and I’m still trying to make that but it doesn’t work once the game is on the STEAM envirronement for some reason. Do not forget you can map the controller with the STEAM CONTROLLER option on your STEAM account. Simply assign SPACE on the chosen button of the controller.
Then you will have PAUSE assigned on your controller.

Update  3-19-20

-Pause function on controller
-Mapping system changed ( it seems that some players didn’t know that mapping the controller was possible)
-Stage Select function at the beginning of the game ( in the How to Play screen ) up to the higher level visited.
-Upgrade Sword items loads the 10 Sword Impulses when you have this power.

If you haven't picked the game up yet, now is a great time!

Well, i've tried Wallachia..I'll be honest. A little disappointed actually. Lecarde Chronicles 2 was such a masterpiece, that playing this generic contra game afterwards is a huge step down in my mind. Don't get me wrong. I'm not trolling. LC2 is one of the best castlevania's i've ever played. In my top 5, and I've played castlevania since the first one way back when in 1987. I'm just a bit shocked at how different and bland this is in comparison. Not a bad game.. a decent run and gun...but hardly anything special. I find it sad that this is the game that is showcased on switch when LC2 is still locked on PC. I love your work in general Mig, but Wallachia is really really far from Castlevania. Maybe my expectations were too high and maybe wallachia should have been branded something entirely else with no connections to Dracula or Castlevania.I don't know, I'm just happy you're going back to a metroidvania style for your next game. Cheers no hard feelings. You guys still rock.

Well to be fair Wallachia isn't a Castlevania game, it is its own thing with a stand-alone story. Maybe the reason why you didn't like it as much might have been due to expectations. I've always made it a point not to expect anything otherwise I'd only be setting myself up for a fall. I believe what Mig was doing with this game was to put together an old Arcade-style title like many a popular games back in the day.

I also believe that the reason why we don't see a Switch port for LC2 is due to legal issues with Konami since the game fan fiction taking place within the CV universe.

Absolutely! How dense of me. Legal issues...For some reason, I didn't think of that lol. And yes, you are absolutely right, it's really just the matter of switching genres after experiencing LC2. It kind of threw me off I guess. But MIG does put up quality games, this is a fact.

@SabinFigaro

Thanks so much for your support! We 100% understand how Wallachia could seem like a step backwards after the large game that was LC2, even though it's a much more refined game.

There are good reasons why we decided to make an arcade style game this time. Firstly, we were burnt out on the Metroidvania genre after the marathon of work LC2 was. Secondly, we felt more comfortable with taking on an arcade style game for our first commerical release because we wanted to focus on polishing the game. We felt more confident we could deliver a quality game in the arcade genre. Thirdly, being a game about Dracula, we decided that we wanted to make Wallachia more of its own thing rather than make a full on Castlevania clone, so we took the opportunity to get inspired by some of our other favorite games and not just Castlevania.

It's definitely not lost on us that we are known for making CV fan games, and we just made a game about Dracula that plays more like Shinobi than Castlevania. We understand there will be confusion for some players.

But your support helps our next game. If an LC2 port on console is what you were wanting, just know that we are working on a new Metroidvania game that will be better than an LC2 port, and it's called Chronicles of the Wolf.

Thanks again and hopefully Wallachia will grow on you over time. We had a lot of fun making the game and we learned a lot!

Can't wait. Chronicles of the wolf sounds awesome. What I really liked about LC2 is that it took the Simon's quest formula, yet managed to do away with levels and forced you to get good at the game. No OP Levels grind. The music was also fantastic and Wallachia is obviously composed by the same guy. Anyways keep up the good work guys. Cheers

I just got the game!

However I found something very interesting. The game is not pixel perfect.

When I was making the scaling of my game I wanted to have perfect pixels.

In Wallachia when you move some pixels get bigger and then smaller. Why not include fixed ratios as option?

Wallachia likely uses a 3d engine or a modern 2d game engine. they often lack options for pixel scaling.
Even if you were to have a lower fixed resolution, the pixels of the assets and the pixels of the screen resolution would not match and it would horribly distort the pixel art

They use Fusion 2.5 if I am not mistaken. It was used to make Lecarde Chronicles 1 and 2. And they have fixed ratio with black borders.

Also on modern engines a custom scaler will do a great job of scaling on integers of x2, x3, x4 etc. while maintaining the chosen ratio.

I commented on it as it was a weird choice for me. It is very noticeable on a 4K tv.

I also saw that the first stage boss now has movement whereas in the demo he just stood around and took it like a champ, lol. I guess aside from me the others noticed this as well eh? Good game and definitely an Arcade-worthy classic had it come out back in the day  :D

US Residents be aware that a VNYsoft version of the physical copy will be coming as well. :

I was reading Marvel's Tomb of Dracula issue #5... the panel below reminded me of a certain video game!

Haha that's awesome. Who is that character? I've never read a marvel Dracula comic. Probably should check it out sometime.

Rachel Van Helsing, great grandaughter of Abraham Van Helsing. She usually uses a crossbow, but she was using a regular bow during that issue.

Very cool! I'm not super familiar with Marvels version of monsters but I saw that Werewolf by Night movie and it was surprisingly good. It would be cool to see a live action marvel Dracula too!

Maybe back in the day before Marvel went WOKE. But not right now. I wouldn't trust them to produce anything solid and worthy of the title Dracula.

I saw that movie too. The only Werewolf by Night I have read are the two crossover issues with Dracula, where we get to see Dracula vs the Werewolf. I am interested to delve into WbN at some point, but right now I'm focused on ToD.

I haven't heard anything about Marvel bringing Dracula back, but at least we have Renfield and another Nosferatu remake on the way!

I've seen comments around the internet of people claiming Wallachia is woke because it has a female protagonist. This term woke means nothing to me I think it's been mostly made up to make people needlessly angry. A lot of current marvel movies haven't been that great, but the werewolf movie is cool. I think they've just lost the charisma of the original avengers cast and they're struggling to find their footing still.

Dude, I've been following Robert Eggers knowing he was planning to make this movie for a very long time. I am beyond stoked for the nosferatu remake! Bill Skarsgard as the vampire is going to be incredible!

If only it were the case. IF ONLY. Unfortunately it isn't. Not only does it make me angry as well but it is also a very real problem. Europe apparently has the worst of it from what I hear. Australia is also a bit of a mess due to it as well. What started out as a simple movement has since been purposely hijacked by neo-feminists (we all know by now that they are feminazis) and blown way out of proportion. They've also hijacked the homosexual pride movement as well so now that's also under the woke umbrella. Though they are a minority they used the internet (surprise!) to make themselves seem much larger then they actually are. It has become the bane of society.

There are some people out there that cannot tell what is woke and what isn't. This was also intentional if I'm not mistaken as we are currently going through what I've been calling 'the age of confusion'. I personally never saw Wallachia as a woke game. At all. I also have a great interest in female protagonists and almost all the time when I roleplay table-top RPGs and the like, I'm usually making a female character. Heck, my multiple playthroughs of the Elderscrolls games are me making female characters to use. However, that all being said, a woke female protagonist differs greatly then a well-written female protagonist. The key to recognizing the difference is in the writing. Woke writers do NOT know how to write stories or characters properly. And this is completely evident in both TV and in movies as they've infiltrated Hollywood and other forms of media. Disney studios, Marvel, DC, etc. have woke writers printing out their personal propaganda to push their agenda. And even more saddening is that it has also infiltrated the videogame market as well. Borderlands 3 is just one example of a woke game. All we can do (besides protest against it) is not buy their products which, in turn, will make them lose money and force them to take a good look at what is going wrong. I do believe DC Warner Bros is going through a restructuring right now because they've been cranking out garbage for the last few years, and thus are taking notice that something within their own studio is not working. I just wish that it happened much sooner or, better yet!, not at all. If you don't believe me that fine. I don't expect anyone to (free Will and all that). But I won't lie to anyone about something that's been going on for almost a decade now...or perhaps even longer.

Describes inherent issues with ‘Wokeism’

I interpret ‘woke’ as confusion culture to the point where different people speaking the same universal language are not inherently understanding one another.. It almost sounds like the Tower of Babel story..

Tbh, the dungeon used to be a good place to ‘Ave-a-rant-mate, but in certain instances according to my experience, it’s no better than the ‘wokeists’ now.

I don't know what it's supposed to mean, but if being anti-woke  means going on Twitter and complaining about an extremely talented young black woman playing The Little Mermaid or complaining about a gay couple in The Last of Us or complaining about a beautiful plus sized model on the cover of sports illustrated, then I think those people who identify as anti-woke need therapy.

If this was just a matter of complaining about bad writing in media I don't think anyone would disagree. No one likes bad writing. But apparently some feel the need to assign a special term for bad writing when it involves minorities. Interesting how that works.

It's a shiny object designed to distract people from actual issues that matter imo.

The craziest thing I saw said about Wallachia was that it's Muslim propaganda... This person also needed a therapist.

That's all I'm going to say about "woke". I didn't want to engage any further but I felt a piece of my soul start to die as I stayed silent.

When’s the album dropping, specifically interested in the anti-ironic Jordan Peterson diss track? ????

It pains me to see what me posting a picture of a panel from Tomb of Dracula devolved into.

X, you're one of my biggest sources of encouragement, and I've always appreciated that, but there was absolutely zero reason for you to bring up "anti-woke" politics. My post had absolutely nothing to do with politics. We also don't need a long overview of these ideas, I've been paying close attention since 2014 when the gamer gate kids started spouting this stuff, and none of it ever held any substance or legitimacy, all it does is divide communities, encourages hate, and creates conflict.

Then I apologize for this getting out of hand as this was not the thread to do-so. People could have simply overlooked what I had stated but chose not to. I'm guilty of bringing it up, yes, absolutely. But I cannot speak for anyone else. That, I'll leave up to them.

Well said. Thank you.

As much as I would love to write this song, I'm afraid I don't have time. I'm composing a massive OST for a video game while simultaneously being a union carpenter and a dad/husband. That leaves no time for diss tracks. But when I'm finished with the video game ost, I'd be happy to do it for a commission.
