"the game has returned in the form of a fan Unity port. It's not perfect but one guy from Japan is making it and I gotta say it's pretty damn good.

Online is free.
Up to 10 players can play online compared to 6 players on XBL/PSN.
Has Chapters 1 through 7 but has two new chapters 12 and 13.

Current roster of characters playable:

Soma Cruz
Alucard
Jonathan Morris
Charlotte Aulin
Shanoa
Albus
Julius Belmont
Richter Belmont "

whoa up to 10 players so epic! though wtf adding Albus instead of Maria?
well perhaps that is a sign they could expand the playable roster above the characters the console versions have.
perhaps they could add all the characters Serio's Castlevania Fighter has!!
oh wow and unity port, they could potentially add dozens of new chapters and stuff!!

Wow that guys put a LOT of time into this, it looks fantastic, id love to try this out.
It be nice to have a sequel to HoD, and it could have a storyline to go along with it. That would just rock.

well the less story the better cause the more story there is, the more strict things are, like while GoS for example is looking interesting, its lookling like its forcing a specific character to be the protagonist, which sucks.  Castlevania HD says "to hell with storytelling.  be what you want, play how you want and set your own goals and meaning in this world".  that's how games should be more like.   free choices, open to interpretation and up to the player.

but yea a sequel to CVHD that is true to the original, except with more playable characters, more Chapters, new enemies, new bosses, new loot, new hunter skills, new music, etc. etc.  they can easily make the CVHD formula into its own ongoing series.

CVHD really innovated the franchise in even greater ways than the metroidvanias, but the difference is that the CVHD innovative format didn't grab attention because the mainstream are too dependant on top graphics and storytelling to grab their interest, which is a shame.  CVHD is a gamer's game.   it's interesting battle royale games caught on and become mainstream, despite not having stories and not getting any awards in graphics.    but a cooperative masterpiece like CVHD just was ignored and underrated.   yes it is also konami's fault not supporting and expanding it as they should, they have money, but yea its also kojima's fault wasting so much money and MGS getting too popular, which ruined even the Suikoden series from getting any budget, which caused its creator to leave the company, among other examples,   but anyways, yea CVHD does have tons of potential, Im not sure how strict konami is with nonprofit PC projects based on konami games, but overall, perhaps some PC modders and stuff could expand upon CVHD in great ways!

Speaking of Lopezes, What about George???
See the problem with watching the George Lopez show is that it pushes the stereotype that George Lopez is actually funny...  XD

I'm beginning to think that Hideki Hayakawa attached a brain slug to Affinity that causes her to think only of Harmony of Despair. She's been ranting about it a lot this year, more than usual anyway.

How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

hey quit trolling and being cynical with your passive aggressive insults.  just because Harmony of Despair is not the mainstream favorite does not make it wrong to praise it.

ya'll have your own obsessions so don't be disrespecting different tastes.

and it seems GoS might be doing storytelling right, it has a protagonist for mindless people that depend on a force fed character,
but it seems like the game allows the diversified freedom of playing as any character the player chooses regardless.   so overall, the game should not be dictated by its story.
character driven stories suck and are limiting anyways and pander too much to one demographic.

Both you.

And it wasn't the first time. You seem to love calling people who like storylines in their games "mindless" and "dumb" and explain how stories make games "worse" (as if you had any objective hold on this matter), yet will cry foul everytime your bullshit is pointed out.

Can you stop that silliness now?

nobody's trolling, i stated facts, you legitimately cannot seem to have any sort of discussion about HD without going on a ~500-word tangent (yes, ~500, i checked all your recent HD fangushes and averaged the word counts) about how it's your favorite game and the best game ever and the best cv game ever and better than the shitty fanbase deserves and anyone who doesn't like it is wrong and has bad opinions and how it's fantastic and flawless and even better because it doesn't really have a story and anyone who thinks story in cv or even just stories in games at all is a good thing is a moron who doesn't know what they're talking about and god man look at all these awesome developers you're plugging for no other reason than to plug them because they worked on your favorite game and the best game ever and then and then and th

you get the idea

every time HD has even been even remotely topically relevant, you've done this, and the fact that you've done it consistently and with the same insane amount of fervor each time has been the cause for the ricardo lopez metaphor--because yes, i actually am unnerved and creeped out a bit by how obsessive you act over it with little or no provocation whatsoever, and the metaphor/comparison is not hyperbolized in regards to how i feel about it

all anyone has to do is drop the letters "h" and "d" concurrently in a context about castlevania and boom, you're 0-100 in an instant

it's a little unsettling if i'm being honest, which i am

i'm also not gonna bother addressing how you gush and fly off the deep end like this at the mere mention of HD but if anyone says anything remotely conflicting with your gush rants then they're haters and trolls and insulting you and assholes and blah blah how dare you have a different opinion blah, because plot already covered that section in his most recent post and covered it quite well

you're free to call us out on our opinions too just like we have been yours, you know--the only reason a few of us have been resistant toward it is because (SURPRISE SURPRISE) you haven't or can't construct a counterargument to those different opinions without diving right back into the CVHD bag for your argument, and that's kind of counter to the point

i only ever bring it up in the first place because, quite simply, if i were to do the same exact kind of thing, enact the same kind of behavior, and go on long-winded and one-sided soliloquous rants about the games/aspects of the series that i like, i would be willing to bet some serious money it would be just as annoying to you (and others!) as you doing it is annoying to some of us

...oh wait, that's already happened before, in debates that had involved you and were about the notion of story in castlevania

huh

now ain't that curious?
