As I said before, I'm going to wait and see before I make my finale judgement (no fucking pun intended people) on this game.  I love Soul Calibur, I love fighting games, and I love Castlevania.  As long as it has solid gameplay, it'll be a win/win for me honestly.

At LEAST give it chance to suck before we all jump on the 'it's going to be complete trash' bandwagon just because it jumped genres.

Some of you whined about the series being 'too stale' and the series needed to 'do something else' or 'go in a different direction': well here you go.  :P

And I'll be in the COMPLETE minority and say: I actually like Dracula's design  :o (minus the WTF is going on with the upper chest portion of his outfit...) Everyone else just looks kinda weird: Alucard looks like a girl (or more so than usual) and his outfit is kinda odd (Raphael apparently stole it for SC4), Maria's design isn't so bad...if it weren't suppose to be Maria, I won't comment on Simon, but the guy with the cross on his back (Trevor?) actually doesn't look too bad.

Meh, look on the bright side: now we actually get to put Death's so called 'Kung Fu tendencies' to the test.  :P

And I agree with DragonSlayr81 on Death Note...
---
I was suppose to say something profound here. I don't 'do' profound so much as ramble so...whatever. Here lies text. Congratulations for reading it.  You were as bored as I am. Seriously, stop reading, you can't be that bored.  Still here? Really?  You officially are my new favorite person and now are owed one internet cookie. Don't eat it though, it gives you bad gas.

Honestly, WHY ALL THE HATE? After so many good-but-same-old games, I am honestly open to any change the series makes.  Why doesn't everyone at least give this thing a chance until we get some vids more info.  Some of you guys are acting like old men who are set in their ways.

Gentlemen, Obata-sensei, art for Death Note and Hikaru no Go, isn't into Gothic Lolita style. I'll say though that the red-headed guy (Simon?) does resemble Yagami Light, but the reason Amane Misa dressed in gothic lolita style was because the writer was into that fashion.

Also, why the hate? Let us recap here:

Stage 1: Fight!
Dracula's castle has risen again, boss: Squeleton.

Stage 2: Fight!
Alucard is found within the castle walls and will try your strength, boss: Alucard.

Stage 3: Fight!
Misterious woman found by, boss: Minotaurus & Werewolf.

Stage 4: Fight!
Death arrives to the scene, boss: Grim Reaper 1.

Stage 5: Fight!
Misterious woman is actually a Bernaldes descendant, boss: Legion.

Stage 6: Fight!
Death returns to stop the newly gathered group, boss: Grim Reaper 2.

Stage 7: Fight!
Final Stage: Dracula.

Epilogue: :'(

I just keep blinking hoping all this will go away.

Dude this game looks so awesome :)

I can't wait, the armor for a lot of the characters looks so much more time-appropriate.

I turn the intrawebs off for a day and a half and THIS happens? Then the IRC channel goes down.

COINCIDENCE? I think not. The IRC gods have spoken their distaste for this.

I honestly thought it was a joke. I was wrong.

I'm....in.... SHOCK!

I-I just don't know anymore where this series is going. Whatever sacred heart it had before is being consistently ripped out and displayed before the casual masses who're happy to fap in ceremony to the dumbing-down destruction, dismemberment and death of what was once Dracula's Castle.

The only good I see coming out of this is that it could possibly generate more fans. But what KIND of fans? The kind that made POR possible?

I'm crying inside. It's like the series is an anything-goes circus now. It's losing its identity and its purpose. Even if this doesn't outright suck, it just isn't right.

It just isn't right...

I am absolutely no opposed to the idea, but the art style is fucking horrendous, as someone else already pointed out.  Imagine how beautiful this could have been with the characters in their classic outfits.  And child Maria is just lame.  I understand Japan, pop-culture, Lolita tendencies, etc, but since when has Castlevania ever been about any of that?  Seriously jumping the shark here.

Man you guys are some fuckers! All you bitch about is how CV needs to change the old metroidvania style is old and lame and itll never be as good as SoTN and then we find out were gettin a game takin CV in a completely new direction, not just look but also genre, and all you do is bitch some more.

Its no fuckin wonder the series is on the low end of the totem pole now, all the fans do is bitch endlessly.

Anyway. Im glad their tryin somethin new and on a good console for such experiments. I think it looks cool so far and very much like Soul Calibur. And lets face it if there was a fighter CV should be like its that one.

If it plays anything like Soul Calibur it could be the best thing to happen to the series since SoTN. It might just be the kick in the ass the series needs to get back up there with the likes of MGS Halo and DMC etc.

Strange enough, I remember when people were say, a CV RPG....it will NEVER happen! Now, with a CV fighter, it looks like a CV RPG IS possible!!!

Which one of us retards made the "Castlevania as a fighter" topic?

I, I put this all squarely in your hands.

May you rot in hell.

:P

Oh well, it's not like we trusted Iga to do anything much better.

Counting the days until he sues Konami for unpaid bonuses and leaves.
