(3:43:55 PM): Kojima says they looked at a global audience when deciding to go in a new direction for Castlevania. Apparently Konami believes the world demands bloodthirsty action with men that wield crucifix-whips. Cruciwhips?

(3:41:44 PM): The story is of a hero looking for "revenge and retribution." The game is being developed by a studio called Mercurysteam, but they are working with Kojima Productions.

(3:41:29 PM): There was a heavy God of War-like vibe from that teaser. Lots of hard action. Kojima even notes that this is a new start. Dave Cox, producer, comes on stage and calls this a reimagining. It is not connected to any of the other games.

this is going to be EPIC. and as much as I enjoy IGA's games that's not a feeling that i've gotten from a castlevania game from a long time.

I wouldn't be too worried about the story, honestly they needed this.
