How can we be sure that the actual game will look like this? Aren't screenshots pre-realease usually not as good, or at least different than, the actual game?
the beta shots for sotn looked identical to the final release, except the lifebar had small differences (like, 4 digits on life counter even when your life was below that etc), and monsters were placed differently.

Anyone notice that the water in that one screenshot isn't just a flat line anymore? And the 3D background/platforms? This looks like it might have some more variety than PoR.

I hope.

Cool, can't wait for this one. This will probably mean that this game could connect to a Wii Castlevania game judging from the past screen shots a few months ago.

Looks alot like the other two DS games IMO. Anyways, perhaps we'l spend some more time outside the castle this time. There's that forest, and in the water-pic there's a big ship (kinda reminds me of RoB) in the background.

From gamespot forums...

"according to TC's scans, the protagonist (Shanoa? no idea how to romanize it) belongs to the Order of Ecclesia, which is dedicated to fighting Dracula. The Order raised her as a weapon against Dracula. She can use holy sword, holy whip and some technique called Grief (again, this might not be the proper romanization)."

well since it says she will be a whip user, maybe there won't be a belmont this time. there were no real belmonts around during the early 1800 - late 1900s until j was born entered the scene, so maybe since she's supposed to be some sort of secret anti dracula weapon they'll use her as the "belmont wannabe of the game"

still better than another morris failure if that's the case

Well if its early 1800s then Richter is still a very good possiblity. Seeing how old Julius was in AoS and DoS, Richter could do the same thing.

And the Morris's didn't fail IMO. They did exactly what they had to do. Hold on to till another Belmont appeared. John(the father) was pretty beastly.

yeah. then early 1900s are taken by the bloodlines guys,  middle by the whiny emo bitch morris kid, then late 1900s by J which leaves mid-late 1800s or something.

or it could be a total side story like cotm. :o

The Morris family plot line was an awesome idea.  Whether you liked Jonathen or not doesn't change that.

poorly executed good idea

they should've been made more unique rather than just renamed belmonts, especially since they abandoned their family duty hundreds of years before bloodlines and escaped their fate

also this should've been a side story material too, the main story being the struggle between the belmonts and dracula started by leon in the middle ages, ended by julius 1000 years later.

A side story wouldn't be bad because I thought CotM was a great side plot. But a side story makes me think of the Bartley story they were developing.

I think is pretty much is side story since all they are doing is fighing him while he gets Ressurected before his 100 years. So you could say they just delayed it some more for Julius.

I wouldn't say abandoned at all.  They obviously still fight monsters.  Just not usually with the Vampire Killer.  And it was used in a rather lackluster manner.  But it is still a very good idea.  They could still do some very cool things with the idea.
