It seems like the NES castlevania titles might be headed to Switch Online.  I’ll be interested if they ever release special versions of these games there with tweaked gameplay like they’ve done for other titles.

But they had the Castlevania Collection, which I imagine is why they're not on NSO...?

It makes about as much sense as releasing Haunted Castle as a standalone purchase after the Arcade Collection came out.

What changes would we like to see or expect for any special versions of these games?

For Castlevania, I’m thinking starting the game up in the second castle, so we don’t have to beat it once to play every time.

For Simon’s Quest, I’m guessing they could start us out with several items and weapons already unlocked.

For Dracula’s Curse, how about let us play with infinite hearts and/or have the triple shot always on?

How about giving us the 64 games. We have been given plenty of choices and chances to play the NES titles, i dont' really feel like its needed to have those on the NSO

yes please.  got to wonder if we’ll be getting a 3D collection or a DS collection this Halloween season.  riot if neither unless we get a new “real” game instead haha.

A collection of Castlevania 64 + Legacy of Darkness and Lament of Innocence + Curse of Darkness with some tweaks to the former (mostly remastered graphics and music, camera stuff and revising the controls to better fit modern gamepads) would seriously make my 2022.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

I agree  ;D

Although I feel the music doesn't really need an upgrade. Even now I still listen to the soundtrack and it still feels relevant. The camera is the BIG one though. Separating the camera motion from character movement and giving use more control like in modern games will go a long way to making this gem shine even more. The graphics are good in there own right but yes, they could definitely use a polygon boost and some more and sharper details. The flat walls and such could also use more of a 3D boost just to give the environment more depth. Now that I think about it both LoI and CoD could also use more of a polygon boost to their graphics as well. They look good but from a distance as the closer you get the more blurry they become.

Honestly, the 64 games just need their audio remastered for stereo because spoken dialogue and the music just sounds... fuzzy. And ideally I'd want whatever wizards redid Perfect Dark's N64 graphics for the Xbox 360 to handle the visual side of things.

Ah! An audio quality remaster. That'll do too  :)
