What do you mean? Do you actually think IGA would do that?

Well, I intended it to be humorous, but considering they just pulled out a Contra 4, I think the idea is open for serious discussion. Maybe. A little bit.

Well, IGA keeps saying that if DXC does well enough he wants to do another level based game like the classics. I really wouldn't be surprised if they pulled a CV5 out
What a horrible night to have a curse!

of course, in Japan Super Castlevania IV wasn't really CV IV it was just Akumajou Dracula. I don't think any of them were really ever numbered in Japan?

Pbb is right.  The numbering system was only used in the US, Europe, and the GB games.

As someone have already said, CV4 is really a remake.  So it is really up to Konami of America and maybe not IGA in making the next "Castlevania 5"

Well, technically Castlevania II was Dracula II: The Accursed Seal in Japan...so one was numbered.

I think that in order for it to really be a Castlevania 5, it would have to feature Simon. The only numbered CV that didn't was Castlevania 3, I know, but still. It's never been explained what happened to him later on.

It's usually never explained what happens to the Belmonts after they defeat Dracula.. I wanna know the details between Richter & the passing of the whip to the Morris'.

A castlevania 5 would be cool. Yes the metroidvania's are nice, but with the technology that they have now, imagine what they could make for the Castlevania 5!

Rondo of Blood wasn't a Metroidvania.  If anything, that could be considered CastleVania 5.

Maybe, if it was ever make it out of Japan! But since it didn't make it out of Japan (the remake of Dracula X  doesn't count) you can't name it Castlevania 5.

Why wouldn't it count? It's the same thing, only much much better! :D

EDIT:
Oh, and regarding another level based classic styled game, no. I say either improve on the 3-D ones and actually give us a good game to play, or give us a mindblowingly huge SotN-styled one. (sorry, Metroidvania is starting to sound too strange...And Casteroid STILL strikes me as something you get if you're overly promiscuous with the wrong people...)
